If they arrive here and the colour changes from Mineral to Steel I'll be kicking myself!!!
I got told someone ordered one at brighton in mineral grey back in october, and didn't get an allocation. Was that you?
I heard that only 1 of the first shipment of srt8's was mineral grey, all the rest were black or silver. Spewing it's so hard to get, but will be pleased with it's exclusivity once i get it i guess.

Yeah, I guess that was me. I could have pushed for the Min Grey but I actually felt it is was bit too 'battleship grey' for me.... I must add that it looked awesome under the lights at the motor show - but in sunlight it's just not doing it for me.

Don't let me put you off though - I've been spoilt by my last two cars that were great grey colours - Honda S2000 in Silverstone and a Monaro CV8R in Turbine Mica Grey.

I just wish we were getting the US Steel Grey - I saw it at the dealership in New York and it was amazing. It had so much metallic fleck in it - a bit like a custom speed boat paint job!

I hope you get something sooner rather than later.
Cheers

I feel a bit out of the crowd. Everyones from Melbourne. I wonder how soon they will come? End of March/April is that still the most current estimate?

Hemi57 did you say they have 200 coming this year? Does that include the 75 in our batch? Any indications from Chrysler that those numbers will continue in following years, or are our cars going to be limited edition?

srt6.1, I might have been a bit optimistic suggesting to DUB300 in another thread that we can probably organise a ride in a SRT8 when he visits in April. Likely to be May before they hit the road but no date confirmed yet.

What DC HQ said to me was they had placed a total order for something like (from memory) 240 SRT8s. Going on the build schedule they could potentially sell 190+ in 2006 if everything stays on schedule. These figures do include the first batch of ~75. No indication on future yearly numbers but expect them to be low as Australian production is lower on the factory's priority list than other countries. The limiting factor on all SRT8s is the 6.1 Hemi supply.

Checked my contract for the correct date and updated below

Name: srt6.1 - Date: ? Oct 2005 - Narellen(Sydney) - Colour: Black
Name: T-Dub - Date: 1st Nov 2005 - Dealer: Brighton- Colour: Black
Name: HEMI 57 - Date: 8 Dec 2005 - Dealer: Brighton- Colour: Silver
Name: Domenic - Date: 6th Jan 2006 - Dealer: Brighton - Colour: Mineral Grey

I hope that is for the second batch of cars coming, and not for the first 75 due in april.

i will go nuts if i can't get a mineral grey until august.

i got emailed the australian srt8 spec sheet today, in adobe, if anyone wants it let me know. i found the stereo quite interesting, don't know if it's the same as the normal 300c 5.7 hemi, they list it as:

"Boston Acoustics Sound System
Standard system includes 6-disc cd and mp3 player, kicker SRT high performance speaker system including 13 speakers (8 locations) with 100-watt subwoofer and 322-watt digital amplifier."

Does this sound the same as the current one in the 5.7 hemi?

Domenic, the sound system specs seem the same. The Hemi 300C has the Premium Boston Acoustics whereas the V6 has a lower spec unit with only single CD.

I must check my US 300 brochure and see how they match over there, and I will get back to you.

I just got this off 300c.com.au

V6 - comes standard with a 6 speaker BA system
Hemi - comes standard with a 7 speakers with subwoofer BA system
srt8 - comes standard with 13 speakers and subwoofer as listed in above post.

I might be reading this wrong, but to me it appears that the srt8 has an upgraded sound system to the 300c hemi.
