Hemi57 and New300c,
Brilliant Black is definitely metallic paint and they do charge a $370 premium for metallic. White is the only non metallic colour in the range in Aus so it is the only colour you will not pay a premium for. Hope that helps.
Cheers,
Shane

yeh when i ordered mine , they said it was metallic but didnt charge me the 370, already comes as metallic so why charge, when they dropped the price with mine, they said we have to take the price off something, like with mine the sunroff only cost $1075, cos they reckon they cant take any money off the car

Thanks AussieHemi & Hemi57, your right Black come in metalic already..

BTW I got mine from Oakleigh Jeep.

Guess what.. ? I droped in to a Merc. dealer today and asked him about the paint & interior protection , he said they charge $800 approx for the package and tint included.... he also said to use the M3 tint product called " Scotchtint"

it's not dyed and it's the best thing after metalic based tint, lifetime warranty!

He also added that they will have to take off the back parcel shelf and other bits to get to the back window.

New300c, that price of $800 all up is a bit more reasonable considering a good tint and installation could run over $400. I have noticed a few of our North American friends here mentioning that their back window tint was installed "through" their centre stop light which is how mine is, which would require removal of the back shelf. Mine was installed via Brighton Chrysler. I guess a lot of tint installers just fit around the centre stop light?

Personally I would still not spend my hard earned on interior and paint "protection". You might have kids who run riot in your interior which might be a driver for you but for me the weekly clean up and detail is my therapy

New300C, they don't usually charge for the metalic paint here, but "different places....... I would definately skip the paint seal, i.e. protection package that the dealer sells. Contact our forum sponsors. I have done business with Gary, turbomangt; has been very helpful to me. His products are super, very high quality.
Enjoy that new car, when you finally get it. The wait can be a killer.

New300c, I will give you my opinion on the detail and tint I got from Brighton.

First the detail, it was just okay but there were some contaminants (industrial fall-out) on the paint on the bonnet, excess polishing product (white build up) in some places like around badges, evidence of that there was no effort to open the doors & boot lid and clean/dry around the lips, dirty marks on the interior and wheels & tyres which seemed to have been sprayed with RP7 (your know, tyre dressing but it was like oil/grease). For me I will be asking for no detail on my SRT8.

On the window tint, it is a quite good job with the tint being very nicely trimmed on all side windows. The tint installer broke clips on both doors when removing the interior door trims and I needed to wait about a month for replacements. I am not happy with the back window as there are air lines along some of the heater strips and the tint trimming is not too flash on the top edge.

Good luck.
