Dom, did you read the article in Friday's HS Cars Guide? If you read that before hearing your good news you would have been miserable I reckon, ie. they said "Chrysler would only confirm a total of 75 x STR8s for Australia".
Then again they said other incorrect stuff like it having "only" 313 Kw and priced at $75,000.
Yeah mate i did read that article, down the local cafe whilst eating breakfast. It was actually what inspired me to come back to work and get on the blower and see if i could swing something. I'd virtually decided that i was going to cancel my order with Brighton, i rang around and was going to contact the country dealers and by hell or high water i was going to get my mineral grey! I first rang Berwick and you wouldn't believe it they still have 2 black one's allocated to them but yet to be sold. He said he'd ring around and swap one of his blacks for a min grey, 30mins later he rang back and said if you give me a deposit over the phone it's a done deal, i said beauty, but then when i rang brighton to cancel the rep said hey dom i was gunna ring ya we got you a car! Apparently they got word earlier in the week. I was rapt, but also a bit peeved at the same time, bacause i would've appreciated a call straight away to let me know this, instead of leaving me hanging a bit, but in the end i got my car and now just looking forward to it's arrival.
Any way we can get engine numbers, and chassis numbers, so we can track the car's progress?

Both engines are Hemis. Daimler Chrysler had AMG (that's right Mercedes AMG) engineers involved in the SRT engine's genesis. The SRT8, apart from the 6.1 litre 425 (conservative) HP engine, has many other worthwhile upgrades, over the 5.7 300c.
- last one part of a discussion on Canadian SRT8 pricing ------- which I nailed exactly (before it was announced) - look lads If I don't blow my own trumpet - who will? Not I, say you?

Zilla, two beautifully written posts.
BTW, you must have us "Skippies" mixed up with the Kiwis. We don't have quite the same "love" for sheep as they do

Ta mate,
I heard with the Kiwis it was lamb(s) ....... I didn't say that ........ no I didn't say that ........... the Kiwis will be doing this to me or this
My auntie (god rest her soul) emigrated to OZ in the 1920's and lived the rest of her life; farming sheep, in the outback. Died about 15 years ago. Brown as a berry she was.
So anyone seriously tempted to buy the SRT8?

EDIT: Slightly off topic, but just in case you missed the post------ so far 50 plus SRT8s will be there! CLIC HERE

I flew across Canada. Drove mine 4000km back, east to west.
Our looney local dealer was upcharging about $6K Can = $7K OZ at the time, on the cars he had coming in.
I got a V.low Km (didn't last) ex-Daimler/Chrysler exec. unit, at a price that can still bring a grin to my face.

Thanks Zilla! I have a better understanding of SRT8 now.
You guys are so lucky in the states/Canada. For the price of SRT8 there we can only get the basic V6 model here

Of course ours are made in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, which might partly explain it.
The money in the Canadian SRT8 price thread is for a base model no options: Sunroof, navigation, upgrade sound system, delivery from the factory, rear seat DVD. side air bags,
The average loaded out the dealer's door price is about $66.000Can = $78.000Aus taxes incl., keys in hand, licenced but not insured.
How much is the OZ V6 out the door in Ozzie $ ?
