I specifically asked the dealer about that, he said it definitely has australia mapped and working.
Dealer i spoke to was Michael at Maroochydore Car Audio, they own a 300c there and are in the process of upgrading blinging it all up. They're dead set putting a ****load of gear into their 300, and this is the headunit he says he's going with. I'm going to keep in touch with him over the next few weeks/months as i'm sure if there are any probs with wiring or anything else then he'll let me know.
im not too far from there, i should go check it out and post some pics

Ok i'm getting to the bottom of things now. It appears the Chrysler OEM nav unit only operates the NTSC format, so all our PAL formatted product would simply not work on it.
Hope i'm wrong, but if the above is the case then the stock nav unit we are all craving will be pretty difficult to get working in our cars for dvd and of course sat nav. Here's praying the alpine vehicle hub can be interfaced with the OEM unit because if it cant then i cant see how we can make it work at all for most multimedia functions, other than playing radio and cd.
The optioned Sat Nav unit for the 300C is the Navus system. It available with the Jeep in a special package now.
The VDO/Dayton system may work with the 300C US console on an auxilary audio and video port. You would of course need a IR blaster as the VDO system has IR on the side of the screen. The whereis CD will work with VDO/Dayton and an electronics shop should get you past any other technical details. The is a audio dealer in Richmond that is an expert on this type of integration.. I'll try an dig up the details...

1. What's IR? And what's an IR blaster?
2. How could this setup help us in running dvd through the US OEM nav headunit, given the format which everything comes in over here is PAL whereas that unit only seems to run on NTSC format?

Are you after SAT/Nav or DVD through the head unit? Do I have a method of emailing, telephoning you?
If it's any help, I was advised by DCA that the SatNav option to be offered is the one from the Cherokee Navigator that uses a dash top touch screen and (presumably) a remote mounted DVD. It's probably the option I'll take if there isn't anything available from ASL Logistics who I have contacted to ask.

Small pic below.

Hey Russ,
Shame it's the dash top version. It stands out like a giant zit.
