Hey Spock, have you had any conversation with the Brighton service guys about this? When I showed them the EVIC easter egg they noted the light sensitivity and made the comment that maybe the 2007 will have this feature fitted.

My conversation with the service department was limited to asking whether the replacemnt part was available and at what cost. According to all I've read, installing the new switch gear will enable the function. For $145 odd it ain't bad.

I bought mine for $35 for the older 300C, then trnsferred it to the new CSRT-8 with no problems whatsoever.
Both cars have Xenon lights and I have used it for 18 months problem free. As for the installation, it is very easy, just insert a sharp nife or blade in the middle of the bottom of the assembly and it will pop when you pull it.
Good luck

Thanks for the removal tip and great to hear you've had no problems.
Cheers

Installed the new headlight switch in my work carpark yesterday. It took all of 3 minutes with a little bit of fiddling on the top clips when removing the stock unit. Plugged the new one in and everything worked spot on.
I know you can do it for nothing by grinding away the plastic notch but having the proper switch assembly with the "A" on it makes it look factory finished IMHO.

a few question for those who have done the mod or replaced the switch,
a. I have the lights turn on for 60sec via the key switch but when I jump in and start the car the headlights turn off momentarily and then back on, is this suppose to happen..?
b. Can the Xenon lights handle the constant on/off..? this also happens during the day when I reverse out of the garage.
c. Any one know how to adjust the sensitivity of the light sensor or more importantly dose it require adjustment?
