Welcome John, you'll find a primer for resizing and posting pics, along with many other "tips" for best using the forums, in the New User/Assistance forum.
I ordered and just received my new light switch with the 'A' on it.
I have just fitted it and will have to wait until dark to see how it works.
However - I have noticed that the fog light button on the new switch (that you press for your fog lights front and rear) only has a picture on it of front fog lights unlike the original that has two pictures on it i.e. front and rear fog lights are depicted on the button as opposed to just front fog lights.
Anyone else notice this or have I been sent the wrong part?
If this is indeed the wrong part then would it not be possible to dismantle both switches and swap fog light buttons and if so how (the switch has clips holding it together but even although I manage to get these clips open I cannot pull the whole switch assembly apart).
The new fog light switch does work correctly though.
In reply to your question New300 yes turning the XENON lights you were talking about will reduce their life. This was already answered so in reply to the second part of the question, yes it is normal for the headlights to turn off when you start the car up. The car requires the most power when the engine is being 'turned over' ie your starting her up. So the headlights turn off to allow for this as they themselves chew the power. So i would suggest that you don't have the 'auto on' feature enabled when unlocking for 60 seconds as you mentioned, and then turning the car on as it will probly waste the lights for little or no benifit (the constant on and off im referring to).
BTW More help needed prying that knob! pulling my knob all day has given me a sore hand and i have not got off yet.(*It off yet*) sorry :P

Alek, I have not done this mod myself but I remember MTC saying you need a small flat blade screwdrive or similar to lever the knob off. I suggest working each side progressively until it starts to move, obviously being careful not to bruise the plastic around the knob.

The best place to insert the screwdriver is directly opposite the white indicator line. The gap is very tight, but it will give when the screwdriver is pushed in. The knob is only secured with a plastic spring collet which soon works free once there is a little movement.
what does the light sensitivity setting in the EVIC look like? There are several screens full of gibberish that I don't understand...
I went away and checked the threads with all the detail about the Easter Egg but they don't actually show the Light Sensitivity screen. Maybe this was not on early build cars
I know that when I am in the Easter Egg it is fair obvious which screen is the light sensitivity one because the abbreviation is something like "lgt sens".
