Talking

This was the first "mod" I made...

Took all of a minute with the trusty swiss army knife...

Didn't remove the switch, just popped off the dial and carved out the lug. Brilliant stuff!

Drove around last night and didn't even remember until I parked that the headlights were on auto.... the way it should be... walked away with an even bigger smil than usual!!

No seriously, all the MY07's in the yard today had an "A" position on the light switch. I asked what it was, he told me it was auto lights.

This was already answered so in reply to the second part of the question, yes it is normal for the headlights to turn off when you start the car up. The car requires the most power when the engine is being 'turned over' ie your starting her up. So the headlights turn off to allow for this as they themselves chew the power. So i would suggest that you don't have the 'auto on' feature enabled when unlocking for 60 seconds as you mentioned, and then turning the car on as it will probly waste the lights for little or no benifit (the constant on and off im referring to).
BTW More help needed prying that knob! pulling my knob all day has given me a sore hand and i have not got off yet.(*It off yet*) sorry :P
Dear Aleks202,

I am pretty sure that New300 has the same issue as I do. And our lights turn off when the engine is already started but not before. You can hear it in my video (Flashing HIDs in Auto mode)

The turning of lights off you are talking about looks like just a little fading of them and it occurs exactly at the very moment of engine start. You can can check it by turning them on manually before starting.
