Just got back from dinner with a friend of mine who is very high up in the shipping company that brings Chryslers to Australia and he confirmed to me that 2 days ago in Melbourne they unloaded about 4 SRT8's. He was there and saw them with his own eyes. They were definitely not normal 300C's he told me (he knows i am still waiting on my "normal" 300c so he knows what the differences between the SRT8 and the normal 300c are). He said they had SRT8 badges on the back and the biggest wheels he'd ever seen! He also told me that they were being handed over to the media ie car mags like Wheels and Motor.
SRT6.1, it sounds like your mate in Sydney wasn't seeing things - the cars are definitely in Australia. Now, i know i am not one of you lucky few that are still waiting for the SRT8, but i'll be just as chuffed with my "normal" 300c when i pick it up in about 3 weeks !
I thought this news might be appreciated by you guys out there who have got orders in on the SRT8 - there is now light at the end of the tunnel!! Woo hoo!!
Cheers,
Shane
AussieHemi, ahhh, I just posted in the other thread on this subject and that was the same belief I had, ie. they are the 5 or 6 Chrysler built ahead of the "full" production for the media.

Welcome back John. I trust you had a nice holiday . Yeah, the SRT8's are for the media - so we have proof they are here now!! Hopefully yours shouldn't be too far away now.
Just spoke to Chrysler HQ. My SRT8 is in Melbourne and they are saying 1st or 2nd week of April for delivery to me .
Veronica said that the SRT8s look awesome, the seats are fabulous and the sound system is outstanding. WOW.
That's great news for you John ! So what's happening with Hemi57? Any buyers yet? Don't tell me you are going to have two in your driveway ! Can't wait to see the car - i bet you are pumped!!
Shane, no calls yet. Interesting service that carsales.com.au provides is the weekly viewing statistics. The last report a week back had 664 views of my large ad. They were over 2222 views of 300C on the site for the 2 weeks upto last Monday.
No I won't be holding onto HEMI 57. Not that well healed .
Have you heard that Chrysler have release the RRP for the SRT8? $71,990 plus sunroof and on roads. This is really good and will help Brighton Chrysler to meet my changeover price challenge.

$71990 plusORC! That is much cheaper than i was expecting - only 12 grand more than the C! Maybe i should have held out for the SRT8 instead - nah, i'll be more than happy with mine . Maybe i'll update in a couple of years.
Re carsales i can understand where you are coming from. I'm trying to sell my fiance's Audi A4 but not having much luck. It's priced right and has had heaps of views but no serious buyers yet. Oh well, all we need is the one right buyer.
BTW i went past Brighton Chrysler yesterday and saw the Gray one in the showroom with the 22" TIS on - didn't like the wheel but MAN they look huge in real life!!
There was an srt8 at brighton last wednesday, i didnt see it though (was only told it was there on friday).
I am so bloody hanging out for my car to arrive you wouldn't believe it. John can we hook up when you take delivery? Just sitting in it would help my wait....
