Goodbye HEMI 57 - Say Hello to SRT 61 (Soon)

Well, today is a day with some sadness and of course much anticipation .

I am handing over HEMI 57 and the keys to Brighton Chrysler as they have agreed to meet my changeover price for the SRT8. Hopefully the SRT8 will be available for pick up next week .

Whatdya doin?

I wouldn't give 'em the 5.7 until they were ready to hand you the keys to the SRT8! Would they give you the SRT8 and wait a week for you to bring the 5.7 in? I don't think so! Are you good with your thumb... as in... "need a ride." ???? Good on ya for your negotiating skills in any case... can't wait to here about (and see pix of) the new ride!

In love with my first wife and first car ('68 Charger) ... still have the wife, but now there's the Heritage Edition and a Magnum SRT8!

Yes it can be a hard day when you give up your baby. You know the next owner will not take care of the car the way you did.

But on the bright side you will soon be slipping into something a little bit more different than your 57. The 61 is going to feel like a different car, eventhough it is still in the same wrapper.

Kudos my friend. Welcome to the land of 61. SRT....baby!

If the dealer accepted my deal and was getting me the car next week. I wouldn't hold up the dealer from being able to sell my trade-in this week. Plus Hemi 57 is a 57 no more. He is now getting ready to cross into the SRT Zone. I would gladly wait the week, for a completely different monster than the already monsterous 57. Like going from a F1 race car (57) to an F-15 (SRT).

My only wish would have been if DCX would have offered there Heritage edition (I am building my own Heritage edt., with my SRT) with the 61 engine as well as there new Big Daddy, little bit longer 300 in the SRT engine.

DCX made a Heritage edition model and I am glad they did. But The 426 Hemi engine is there heritage and that engine made 426 hp. The SRT makes 425 hp. That to me would have been the deciding factor to offer a Heritage edition with the SRT model, not the 340hp C model. Just my .02

GoofyTim, ah no worries mate. It is all part of the deal and a bit of a sweetener for the dealer as 300C Hemi's are in short supply here.

I have an old Ute (Pick-up) to get around in and I am working away from my home city so don't get to drive much anyway.

Freebird, it is write-ups like yours on the Halos thread which build my anticipation sooo much

Hey congratulations! The patience has paid off for sure. I know the feeling of handing over your first sweetheart. But wait till you sit down and floor the SRT8- your memory will fade until you say…….. “ah, what 5.7- I don’t remember any 5.7!!” Enjoy and post some pics.

G'day NR. We went to the GP on Saturday, which is what we normally try and do. Always get to see all the different Race Cars, even though the F1s are only qualifying, and really go for arguably the main event, Aussie V8 Supercars. We are fortunate having the circuit so close to the city centre. The crowds were down a bit this year as the Commonwealth Games only wound up a few days before and that other "religion" here in Melbourne started up (Bloody Aussie rules "football").

Ah yes, the colour . HEMI 57 is Bright Silver. SRT 61 will be Bright Silver. I am copping heaps from my wife about that . "Why didn't you choose another colour??, no-one will know you have updated your car ".

SRT Danno, I am so look forward to the pick-up day now.

Congratulations!

Hi there Hemi57 and congratulations on striking the deal you needed - although I reckon they've been blessed to have your custom at the dealer.
Prior to taking delivery of SRT61, I need you to promise me not to let me talk myself into doing the same. I'm ordering the Flashpaq when our US cousins awake just so I've got something new to play around with too.
Can't wait to see it in the car park!
