Colour confused!! Can you help me please?

Hi there,

Is there a difference between 'Silver Steel' and 'Mineral Gray'?

Or have they just changed the color name for the Aussie market?

If they are different, I'd like to see the two together for comparison.

Which one is darker?

Thanks in advance.

The Wiz.

I am sure that they are different as 50cent has had his car for some time now-mineral grey, and steel silver is a fairly new colour.

Actually; I understand that they are the same color, but they are called Silver Steel here in US/Canada. But in Europe, and other places it is called Mineral Gray.

I agree with Model 57. Mine is a Mineral Grey 300 but the SRT's are coming out as Silver Steel as it is known in the U.S.

I got a response from an Aussie member after he saw pictures of FreebirdSRT in Silver Steel. He said that he has the same color but down under they are calling it Mineral Gray.

Freebird, up to date Avatar I see .

I think that was me who made the judgement that Mineral Grey and Silver Steel were the same. I would now like to suggest that they are different.

A the Melbourne Motor Show Chrysler had some metal panels painted in the various colours on display. Silver Steel is more like "Gun Metal" to me, ie. darker than Mineral and more "Flakey" IMO.

Spock, Chrysler are telling me the SRT8s for OZ are Mineral, Black & Silver. No mention to me of Silver Steel. We will see eh?

Hey Joey... Thanks for that mate.

Are they the same colour and just look different under different light conditions?

One is indoor, the other outdoors.

I'll still not 100% convinced either way..

Does anyone know for certain?

Thanks,
The Wiz.

When I ordered mine, my Chrysler man told me the only colors for '06 300 SRT's were Silver Steel metallic (makes it flakey), black and silver. Same as Hemi 57 was told, but substituted with Mineral Gray. They still may be the same color.
