I haven't heard boo from my dealer (Brighton) since I said that I wanted them to honour our original contract of the sale being "conditional of test drive".
BTW, It didn't escape my attention that HEMI57 who signed up after me is expecting his delivery in the next week or so - (that's not a gripe against HEMI57, he was probably in a better position to sign up unconditionally, given that he has a 300C and knows that the SRT8 is only going to be better) but I am very disappointed that I seem to have been wiped by the dealer.
The last price I was quoted was $84,000 drive away.
But my signed contract from Nov 05 states $79,990 drive away.
This car - when it is finally available or when the dealer bothers to call me will need to be bloody good! The whole experience has been spoiled for me.
In Victoria and I have a figure of $ 71,990 + the usual on roads etc. plus a couple of accessory items. Dealer apparently gets the car on the 20th but given where it has to go that will no doubt mean 27-28th for me.
Why can't they just write it like
71990 car
500 insurance
2k dealer delivery
et al
As they've written it there, to my eye it doesn't properly itemise everything i am paying for. In my experience that usually mean they are attempting to shroud something, not saying they are actually doing that but it'd be nice to have it all properly itemised. For example what is LCT?
Hey Dom,
My dealer in Adelaide did write them down the way you suggested.
Hmmm.. Something rotten in Denmark (Australia too??)
LCT stands for Luxury Car Tax. Any price over $57000 attracts an LCT of 22.5%. Bloody Government getting their greasy mits on more of our money with another tax. !
T-Dub, no offence taken at this end but if it is any consulation I appear to have a little influence at Chrysler HQ as I was arguably the first person in OZ to order a 300C (November 2004) and have been feeding Chrysler and Brighton with useful information for a long time now. Information I must say courtesy of this very Forum
T-Dub, are you Andrew or James? Phil at Brighton Chrysler has spoken about "Andrew" who is on the Forum and says he is working actively to get your car on a high priority.
