Information I must say courtesy of this very Forum

T-Dub, are you Andrew or James? Phil at Brighton Chrysler has spoken about "Andrew" who is on the Forum and says he is working actively to get your car on a high priority.
"T-Dub" T is for TOM. I Don't know James or Andrew.

I was told early on from Brighton (when they weren't so busy...!) that you had a 300C and had asked for an upgrade to a SRT8 if it was ever confirmed and that you had been very helpful and active with supplying info to them, so I believe that they should have bent over backwards to help you and I'm glad that they did. It's not that I'm stressed about the timing of when I purchase mine, it's just that I won't tolerate a deal being made then the goal posts being moved. Nothing, absolutely nothing pisses me off more.

Deposit - Test Drive - Like it - Pay - Drive away.
It seemed simple enough to me.

Looking at the pics makes my decision to fit in with Brighton's stock availability and change to a Black one a close call - maybe I should have stuck with the Mineral Gray...??? even more so now that I haven't even got a call from them let alone a car...!

Anyway Hemi57/SRT61, I'm genuinely pleased to see you got your car early, it sounds like you are as "happy as the proverbial pig in .....".

Good luck with the car.
Cheers
T-Dub

PS Thanks for all your input to the forum, I've quoted your posts often when showing off how much I know about the 300C down at the pub.

Tom, thanks for the recognition.

I'll put a word into Brighton for you. Based on the comments you made last time I gave them a sermon on Customer Service (which is really my profession). Told them communication was the key and that for very little effort they can get big returns, eg. a telephone call once in a while will be appreciated and add to Customer Satisfaction.

One consulation, before you drive away in your SRT8, they will get you to fill out a form and make comments about your buying experience and I recommend you be honest about how you perceived the service you got.

Cheers
John

Thanks John.

I got a message left on on my mobile this morning from Brighton - that was fast work! Phil said I was STILL ON TRACK for late May shipment.

Very ordinary that I've been bounced back three months - I rang around a few weeks ago and had a choice of three SRT8's from other dealers .... we'll see what happens.

A bit of honesty about "we had to choose between people who signed up unconditionally ahead of people who wanted to test drive an $80K+ car prior to purchase" is all it would have taken. Then at least I would have known what's going on and if I wasn't happy about it told them then and there - rather than stewing on it.

Like you said it's all about communication.

cheers

Tom

Russ, if that includes a sunroof, you have an outstanding deal there.

It looks to me that the main difference between my deal and yours is that i've been charged for a sunroof whereas you haven't. Given that i have yet to actually sign off on the paperwork with all blank spaces filled in, I might be taking this anonymous quote with me when i go to sign up. I would also like to get the best deal, just like you have.

Could i ask two things, firstly confirmation that it is sunroof-inclusive, and secondly which dealer gave you this deal? Dont worry i dont need your name.

Hi there,
based on DC Aus price list, SRT8 base is $71,990, sunroof $2,430. i am interested in the dealer delivery. what do we actually get for $2K? anyone managed to itemise the service dealer is going to provide for this money? seems awful lot of money to me for God knows what....

Hi 6200GT.
The short answer is bugger all.

I had mine redone after not being convinced it was done originally and it took all of about 3 hours. I've got a copy of the checklist and it really amounts to not much more than checking that the thing has been screwed together correctly and setting the various factory BEM settings.

Having said that it's no different to the $ 1495 you pay a Ford dealer to have their PD done. The better dealers (at least in Ford land) ensure that the car is presented in a detailed condition but it isn't a compulsory part of the process according to my Chrysler dealer. Just as well because mine wasn't! Nor does it seem to extend to removal of the underside surface rust that I got my Ford dealer to do instead.

I'd guess in the case of imports like the 300C some of that is possibly the dealer contribution to the work done by Patricks as well as the transport from wharf to dealer but that IS a guess.

Cheers
Russ
