I had a nice drive with a mate in a crossfire from Sydney to Berrima. It is just so smooth going through the windy roads through the country and great on the freeway as well.

On the way back home I passed 500km on the odometer. I just could not resist and at pole position at the traffic lights WOT CAME INTO ACTION!!! Bloody hell!!!!!!!!! The back wheels lit up a bit and off she went. What a sensational experience.

The next set of lights I got pole position again. This time I didn't gas it straight of the lights, but just after moving forward applied WOT again. This time I think I must of hit the rev limiter, because as she bellowed all the way in her deep menacing sound another nice sound came out when she hit redline, like the V8 supercars do when they hit the limiter I suppose. This sound brought the biggest smile to my face so far.

Just an amazing experience in this car so far words can not describe. I am so happy with this purchase, the performace and luxury are the best for the money paid. Anyone contemplating moving up from a 5.7 or tossing up whether to spend the extra $, all I can say is get it!!!!!!!! BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK!!!!!!!!!

Yes the sub is factory standard. I will post some pics when I can stop driving all day.

Cheers,

Steve.

Exclamation

Hi,
This is Steve's girlfriend - he has kindly forgotten to tell you all that I started all this madness. I am a PT cruiser driver (4 years now) and have been a member of the club for the last year. He has very patiently been dragged to the cruises without too much enthusiam (too slow for his taste obviously) and unlike him I've owned a couple of hot cars and bikes. My previous car was a 67 Mustang. So whilst being on a few cruises the guys started talking about the latest Chrysler super beast which sparked a bit of interest from him, and I was always in trouble for sitting on the forum all night..... well if I only knew what I was starting. I gotta say I was a little dubious when he said he was placing the order but hey I know what its like to really want a car - so I said go for it. Well let me tell you I haven't stopped smiling all weekend but geez he nags when I drive, I had to run to the car from the garage today to get a drive. Hell its gonna be murder driving to work in the PT on Tuesday. The 300 goes better than any car I have ever been in and has so much luxury. Steve is man of few words and expressions but it has been fantastic to watch that car light up his face like I used to in the old days. To anyone considering this car DO NOT HESITATE its worth every penny and then some

Great pics John. I can only imagine how you must feel. Can't wait to get a closer look at it at the detailing workshop. Congrats
I have the trunk grab handle in mine. I didn't realise there were some that didn't.

Hey everyone, just back from a trip up to the border and back. Got 11.3 litres/100 kilometres (24.51 MPG (Imperial Gallon) which is about 0.5 litre more than HEMI 57 used on a similar trip.

The ride is outstanding. I thought it would be harsher but it is great with only a little thumping on rough patches. The tyre noise is quite a bit higher than HEMI 57 but SRT 61 does have "Super Car" tyres .

The steering is significantly better than HEMI 57, much more positive and sharper.

Yup, that Kicker Sub is factory. I reckon that I liked the sound of the system in HEMI 57 better. In HEMI 57 I never ran with full Bass. In SRT 61 I am running full Bass and still wish I had more.

Here is photographic evidence that we got over the river with Mrs HEMI 57.

Hey John, there seems to be a car in the background that's detracting from the lovely lady. (Insert cat calls and wolf whistles here)
Please move the vehicle, take 10 steps forward and take the picture again.

Need more information dude!
Not sure if there's sarcasm in there, is the system significantly better or is it disappointing? I have read threads in the srt forum and also stereo/nav forum about how the factory guys screwed up the connections with the kicker systems which resulted in muffled/distorted sound. Apparently the wires are connected back the front, sounds ridiculous i know, how could factory screw up something so simple? Once fixed up the system is supposed to pump, bass in truckloads. Let us know dude.

OH AND CONGRATULATIONS! (we must hook up soon)

...by the way, this 3 lane cross you did on dandy road, it wasn't the exit of grange rd to get over to burke was it? Would make sense as it is heading up your way!!!!

Spock, a little decorum please

Dom, good point, could well be a problem on the wiring polarity. The sound is really not up there. Good guess but it was right outta Grange Road and across 3 lanes to Darling Road. I know, I know, so I had about 1 likometre to get across 3 lanes but hey, it was an opportunity .
