Our 2 year old loves the DVD's. Thomas the Tank engine is the only one we have played so far. ... perhaps I should stop now

Perfect family car in my opinion....apart from the towbar for bikes ...

Thought I may provide some feedback on the new purchase for those interested.

Photos were taken on the weekend which I'll post shortly.
Part 1..

I'm on the second tank now and the engine seems to have loosened somewhat. I'm pleasantly surprised by the light feel of the car even with its considerable bulk. It accelerates like a demon, brakes similarly as well. The 5 speed AMG transmission is accurate and well adjusted even when the foot is taken of the pedal quickly once the speedo is checked. The steering has a good weighty feel. I have no problems with vision and tight parking situations. The rear parking sensors are more accurate than ones I have used before and the mirrors dip slightly in reverse so that bluestone gutters stay well away from those striking rims. Lighting both in the car and out seems well planned out though internally it is darker than I would like, especially in the rear. Xeon headlights are the "duck guts", accurate, bright and clear. The fog lights could benefit from a xenon upgrade in the future. The auto light sensing knob should be on its way shortly. The car seems to ride lower than it is. It navigates the crossings (driveways) that my previous car could not.

Seating is excellent. The leather is smooth soft and comfortable and should wear well. The non-leather innards ensure there is no sliding. Seats seem to have a high level of comfort for the young, old, short, tall drivers and passengers. Driver seat is set to move backwards which aids in exiting and entering the vehicle. Leg room is not spectacular in the rear though it’s not noticed once you sink into the seats. You sit into the rear seat rather than on them... Kiddie seat was easy to install and the new latching facility is available. Both seats can be folded down simply. It’s so simple in fact that I had to check both were locked back in place when reversing the process.
Doors are basically trimmed, solid to close and have excellent controls. Mirrors can be flattened in on the vehicle and adjusted easily. The knuckle allows the doors to be opened and stay that way which is good for apartment dwellers and tight parking situations.

Lack of front roof grab rails are explained in the manual due to air bag locations though the lack of a solid handle for the passenger can be un-nerving. Perhaps it’s only my passengers..!! The rails are in the rear and help when exiting the vehicle.

Internals of the car appeal to my retro tastes. Yes I like the clock, old fashioned dials and simplicity of it all. Plenty of compartments to sort CD cases, maps, glasses, cups etc. No integrated Sat Nav is available!!. The glove compartment is small like most nowadays. Sunroof is quiet, accurate and lacks an auto close feature when the car is turned off.

EVIC system give you lots of choices to electronically customise vehicle settings (more than most), though it lacks a high speed chime Which I have gotta say would be handy. The Digital speedo cannot be set as a default in a vehicle that has a speedo focusing on the 30, 60, 90klm's etc...Auto lock feature works well, remember you can unlock doors as well from the drivers doors (Should have listened to Shane on that one)

Boot is a good size rather than large and the car comes with a cargo net which I have not installed. Underneath the liner is a good spot for secured items. The battery is in the boot which is worth remembering and would never fit in the engine bay. The subwoofer fits neatly into the left side of the boot and has a solid grill to protect it from boot objects. Boot opening is unusual with two clicks required by the remote and lacks an automatic lifter.

(Edit - I have a few out standings with the DVD system, stereo and some other items, I'll add those comments and more once they are addressed)

Few probs i will note of mine.....

*Rear passenger side window had a problem with the motor, and is being replaced.

*Stereo has scratchy reception on the FM dial, but AM is ok. Headunit is being replaced as they can't find out why it is happening. (been assured it isn't the tint though)

*Brake dust is a definite downer on driving enjoyment, but that's just me. I like the car to be clean and looking good and especially after a good clean i feel conscious about driving it again, to the point that it affects my driving/braking behaviour.

Other than that the car is a jet and is worth every cent i paid for it.
