SRT / 300C Car kit installs

I'm after a few pic of vehicles with car kits installed. To look at various placement positions. I have a Blackberry and a Nokia N70 that I am looking to locate sensibly but I'm sure other are interested in all phones and types.

I'm more of a car kit, speakerphone, microphone, charger, person. The bluetooth kits just do not do it for me...

thanks, srtaus.

You might have to go for a bluetooth kit for the Nokia N70 as I don't believe there is a cradle for it.

srtaus.
i just bought a garmin nuvi sat-nav which also has the blue tooth. for a $1000 you get the best of both worlds plus you can take it out of the car and put in your pocket when you go on holidays.
i was a car phone person but will now always use the blue tooth. fantastic.

it is the nuvi 310 and you even have a digital speedo as you drive.

JAS000, can you provide more information on the nuvi?

Is this a GPS &/or does it work like a Sat Nav?

Do you need extra S/W or add-ins to use it overseas? (is it compatible overseas?).

Not the only place I'm sure but try this link for info. $990 for the 310 and they have a store on st kilda road.

Post My Bluetooth Car Kit Experiences

I installed the UConnect as sold by Chrsyler Australia. This is the aftermarket UConnect system which doesn't display caller id on the stereo but it does mute the radio when you receive an incoming call. The only complaint I would have about the UConnect is that it is fussy with what type of handset it will work with (even though Bluetooth Handsfree & Headset profiles are supposed to be a standard)...

It works fine with a Nokia N70 and an O2 Atom. It doesn't work with a Nokia N80 (the new 3G, 3MP, Wifi phone) and also doesn't work with a Sony Ericsson K800i (the new 3g, 3mp phone).

The quality of the sound for the person on the other end and the person in the car are both very good. Better sound quality than the Sony Ericsson kit in the Monaro - but thats probably due to the difference in road/exhaust noise.

The TomTom GPS I have has Bluetooth but I don't like using it because it doesn't mute the radio. The TomTom doesn't easily switch between handsets either.

The UConnect is great with the voice digit dialling & handling different phones.

Cheers
MM

there are a couple of sat nav's available:
  • GARMIN Streetpilot
  • MIO
  • NAVMAN iCN
  • ROAD ANGEL Navigator
  • TOMTOM
each company has different models with different options.

A mate of mine has the Garmin.. top of the range about $1000.. awesome unit, full touch screen, bluetooth so you can use it as a hands free and even can read out aload your sms' so you dont have to read them off your phone and they also act as a mp3 player(plug it to you pc and download onto the hard drive.) aslo acts as a digital speedo and other little features and stuff..

go to www.tomtom.com and click on the big ad in the middle of the website for the 910 model and watch the animation, shows you exactly how they work. its a great way to get a better idea..

just a matter of getting the cash for one...

cheers
