Cool Superchhip or other ECU Edit

Has anyone out there installed a "Superchips" upgrade?? Or any other type of ECU update? I have done my exhausts and installed a K&N aircharger cold air intake system - yep makes a difference but I want more!! Recommendations???

yeh i was thinking about it, but someone posted this
:"I purchased a Superchips Flashpaq a couple of weeks back, and was only informed today by Superchips that it will NOT work on late 2006 models. My car has a build date of around March 2006. Superchips does not know when an update will be available, and recommended that I return it."

so im not sure if it will work with mine; anyone else know more about it ??

Welcome Hot Black Hemi

There is at least one Aussie member who has the Superchip Flashpaq. I am sure that member will chime in with their experiences soon. I had not heard about the non-compatibility with the later model ECUs. Turk's information is fairly explicit that Superchip does not look with the later builds but you may need to go down to the ECU software version level to check compatibility as the Aussie 300s might be out off sync with the NA build 300s.

BTW, where are you located?

Yeah, news to me re the incompatability. If you want more you should look at high flow cats and custom headers. Say hello to at least 15-20kw. A decent set of stainless steel headers with cats should set you back around $2500. It'll be worth it though.

SC Flashpaq Experience

Hi there Hot Black Hemi.

I've got the SC Flashpaq installed, without any major issues, in my August '05 build 2006 300C 5.7L Hemi.

I absolutely love how much more "driveable" it has made my C and the way it has unleashed the performance of 5.7L. I'd say that most of the improvement has come from the changes to transmission management (torque management) from the stock settings. The changes are firmer and the paddle shift (tiptronic style transmission) now works very nicely.

There is still a bit of a problem here in Australia however with the Fuel we use and the Performance setting on the Flashpaq. It appears that not all fuels are equal and that our highest octane fuel in Australia falls short of the majority of US fuel. I've copied a link I suggest you look at. I have experimented with fuel from various suppliers at 95, 98 and 100 Octane and still get "pinging" under heavy acceleration when what appears to be a very advanced timing curve cuts in at about 3500rpm. Consequently, I'm running the US "economy" tune now which calls for US 87 octane (my guess..approx 93 Aust?) but with all the transmission tricks that I like so much. You can't have 1 without the other at this stage. ie. Trans settings, shift points, wheel/tyre sizes plus you have to pick one of the "tunes" which are 87 or 91 octane.

Flashpaq not for Canadian 91 eh

91 octane pinging in California

I'm sticking with mine longer term because Superchips keep updating the Flashpaq software and the database of cars it will support. I understand that in a few weeks or so, we'll have the ability to manually alter some of the settings so we can build our own tune that suits Aussie fuel.

Finally, I'm not sure about the changes to recent software revisions in newer cars but I believe there are some issues as turk182 has pointed out. My suggestion is a PM to Ron@Superchips (seems like a top bloke and always responsive - his details are in the second link above) with your build date and software revision data and ask him to check it for suitability prior to ordering. For access to some of that data, check the "sticky" relating to the EVIC easter egg. You'll love that if you have not found it yet.

Good luck and I wish you well. Have a search around the threads here for more details.

Hope some of this helps.

Sean.

yep got custom springs from K-mac in sydney, they made the springs to how low i wanted it while i waited , took about 5-7 hours but i slept during most of it so it wasnt that long in the end.

Just drive slow over the speed humps and its all good, low and slow in the only way to ride

Actually i did, i knew it was going to happen and when i got it lowered it looked great, but then on the way home i stopped at a servo and noticed the rear end up about 1-1 and half inch, which made the front lower, looked a little strange, but as i knew this was going to happen and i had already done some research i knew what had to be done.

I ordered U.S Spec Rear Shocks( Non Self-Leveling) from Wyckoff Chrysler one of the site vendors, for the pair they set me back $360 shipped to Australia which took about 1 week to get here once they shipped. I have heard you can get them from the local dealers but im not sure about the price and they would still get them from the U.S. the part number is: 4782712AE.

I do believe another Aussie Member has gotten some Custom Made Shocks if thats the way you wanna go, but in the end is all worked out great
