It appears that you don't have too many in OZ prepared to admit they own a Diesel 300C. Well I will step forward and admit it. I did enter a comment in the European Diesel section of the forum regarding towing recently. You may wish to read my comments. However I haven't seen any others around where I live. But I do live in a country town. You are certainly correct about good fuel consumption for the amount of available torque. Genenerally I am quite happy with vehicle apart from a few design faults. But I did choose it for its unique design characteristics and thats the price one pays.

I'll admit I have ordered one (300c Tourer) - just waiting on delivery. Hopefully Oct 15th.

Am also interested in anyone's view that already runs one. I do about 1,000k per week so looking forward to the economy running of the diesel.

Hi Bernard

I've got a CRD in the UK and I absolutely love it. If you go to the european & diesel section, you'll get a feel for what we all think about the car. The overwhelming impressions are very, very positive.

As regards MPG (sorry, can't do lt/100km). The car loosens up as mileage miles build up and it was only when Arnie hit about 5000 miles that his economy settled down and has stayed steady ever since. On a tank of mixed running (but not much urban) I'm getting 35 mpg overall - but on a recent 325 mile run at 80-85 mph, I got over 40 mpg ---- which is very impressive for a big lad. I don't think that the Tourer should be much different to the saloon.

Hi Bernard..You will absolutely love your CRD. It has incredible torque, just whats needed in Tassie. Now I will show my ignorance once again. Is a Tourer a wagon? As for your 1000k per week, yes it will be very economical to run compared to the other big 2.

Hi Kelvin.

Yep, the tourer is a short wagon version.

Regards and thanks,

Bernard
