fuel consumption

Before someone takes me to task for previous message re fuel consumption, I meant, of course, 8.2 l/100 kms compared to 29 l/100 kms, I still think in the ol' mpg, from that era! Got my first car in 1971.
8.2 l/100 kms works out to 30 mpg, if my calcs are correct. Better than the VW I had when I was 18!!!

miguelito, just in case you have difficulty finding it, here is the link to the European & Diesel section:

http://www.300cforums.com/forums/eur...0c-discussion/

On the defence of the 5.7 & 6.1, these powered cars come into their own cruising the highways when it comes to fuel economy.

Hey, I too convert to MPG very fill I do too . Don't get mixed up with the NA members mpg figures, their gallon is smaller.

Just went to Canberra and back today in the SRT, it only has just over 1000K's on it now. 12.3L/100 on the way up there into a very stiff headwind and 10.3L/100Km on the downhill run back. Seems to be doing 16's around town. I cannot believe these highway figures, they are fantastic and I'm sure they will improve. I run 98 Octane.

how crazy was that wind today, think it actually made mine go faster

yeh i normally average out about 14L/100km, damm Canberra drivers, they either drive 10-20km below the speed limit or I pull up at the lights next to a P plater with a lancer tryin to race me, i mean come on...only fun is when i go to sydney, the drivers have got to be the Best in Australia, always speeding
