it will be interesting. On jeep.com MSRP is $40,395. and on chrysler.com the 300c srt8 MSRP is $42,695. so if the GCSRT8 is approx $2000 cheaper in the states should the difference be similar over here?? (all prices are $US)
Good pick-up
IMO Chrysler OZ are just picking a price point for the market and competitors (of which there aren't any I know of ).
The 300C and SRT8 were priced to "attack" the competition and that has worked very well. It also provides us owners with good value for money and the potential for good resales

Just at the local dealer in Brisbane. They have a Grand Cherokee SRT8 coming in early next month...(its actually in the country atm but they cant sell it till the official launch date). Its Steel Blue and $103 430. First one in Brisbane and one of the first in Aus apparently.

They are actually about the same base price. The only reason it shows $42,695 is the $2,100 gas guzzler tax we have to pay. Since the Jeep is a "utility" vehicle they are exempt.

shouldnt be classed as a utility. 4x4 have always had less tax anyway.
mercedes ML500(120k) is cheaper then its sedan brother E500(150k)
ML63(6.3 v8 arriving soon, 160k) is heaps cheaper then E55 and the new E63 coming out(200k plus).
the X5(120k) v8 is cheaper then a 5 series v8(150k)
this is because 4x4 have always paid less tax.. so i believe SRT8 300c should be more expensive then SRT8 4x4.
anyway, there is nothing we can do about it.. have to put up with it.

Ummm....You confused me.
First off I'm from the US and only chimed in because there was an example of pricing from Chrysler's American websites.
I don't know about over in OZ, but here it's not about being a 4X4 that makes a vehicle meet gas guzzler tax exemption status, Afterall, plenty of 2X4 vehicles meet said status....It's about the definition of "utility." whatever it REALLY is....We're all confused here too about that definition.
Afterall, the Magnum SRT-8 (RWD) is also exempt from the GGT here in the States because It's a "Utility" vehicle with a flat loading surface.
just wondering if anyone has some information about the new Grand Cherokee SRT8...
apparently a hand full have landed in Australia.. anyone know how much they will be and when they will start selling them to the public??
cheers..
$ 56K (over sticker by 10K)
0-60 in 4.6
Great in the snow (supposedly)
