Hi there! Yes they have landed in Australia and have been approved from the government to commance selling. They should be hitting the showrooms any time in the now depending on your dealers allocation.

That looked like a pretty close race to me. 400 hp weighing 3850 lbs GTO vs 420hp AWD with a curb weight of 3994lbs Jeep SRT-8. Looks like a driver's race to me and i know for a fact that dragging a GTO is tough to launch due especially to the independant rear. We have various GTO members that have run 12.9's stock. I know the 300C SRT-8 can run 12.8-12.9 stock. It takes way less skill to drive AWD car as traction is not the problem, but destroying your clutch can be. Oh an i have the lowly slow 04 GTO which is only faster then 99% of all the vehicles on the road. Still considering a 300C and if things go my way i may even get a new one in my driveway.

You might want to check in at our sister site www.cherokeesrt8.com

Here is a thread I posted on the front page in February, no pricing was available at that time.
The Jeep Australia official site still does not list pricing.

Guess again....The curb weight of a Jeep SRT-8 is 4850lbs.

As you can see it would take more than AWD to win a race with such a huge difference in curb weight.

The stock 3.73 Dana 44 rear end is it's other secret to quick times.

I got my information via Edmunds so i guess they need to update the site. Either way its no laugher. I've seen way faster vehicles lose to way slower vehicles. I've seen a Dodge Neon and this is no SRT-4 beat a Dodge viper, now thats a laugher (and no it wasn't stock).

it will be interesting. On jeep.com MSRP is $40,395. and on chrysler.com the 300c srt8 MSRP is $42,695. so if the GCSRT8 is approx $2000 cheaper in the states should the difference be similar over here?? (all prices are $US)
