Smile Drum Roll Please.....

Gents (and Gals)

I made it to the club... Picked up a new black 5.7 Hemi, with tint & mesh grill last night. 40 kilometres thus far, and loving it.

Poor sad monaro is parked on the street, looking at me each time I leave the house, thinking "I'm not that tough".

Need some custom plates asap. Ended up with a rude stock issue number. Anyone done a 3 charactor slimline in Vic? Do they look too small? Should I do a 3 Charactor full size? Will a mounting backet start to protrude? I have the plate I want available, but have to work out size!

Thankyou all for your help (much of it as a passive reader).

Anthony

Anthony,
Sorry, but, I don't know a thing about your Aussie plates but I do want to congratulate you on your beautiful BB 300c and to welcome you to the forums. Your sad Monaro will get over it eventually. Show us some pics when you get a chance.

Congratulations Anthony .

With you saying "Will a mounting backet start to protrude?", now that is worrying me

I sincerely hope that the dealer didn't attach the front number plate mounting assembly? All 300s I have seen have the front plate attached directly to the front bumper. The problem you are likely to have is that holes for the standard plates will be exposed by a 3 digit plate.

Keep us informed.

Thanks John (and all).

John, can you tell me if most Melb guys have slimline or full size, or one of each in Vic? Worst case is I could do a black plate under the n'plate if 3 didgits are too small to cover the holes, but it is more "do they look too small?"

Thanks again.

Hey Anthony - congratulations man!! It's a great feeling isn't it.

In regards to number plates, I have got the slimline plates on mine (not personalised yet). I intend on getting personalised plates soon but want to get the standard size, not slimlines. I find that the car is so huge that slimlines actually look a little too small on the car. I reckon the standard size personalised will look better IMO. Just my 2 cents!

BTW, are you coming to the M&G on Sunday? Weather is meant to be perfect and will be a great chance to catch up with all us nutters!!

Thanks...! I knew the M&G question would come up. I can't this Sunday due to the niece's 2nd birthday (aka adult pissup), which has been planned for a little while. If I knew the delivery was going to be so quick, I could have applied for a leave pass, but left my run a little too late. Will be at #4 with bells on though.

Anthony, is it possible to just get to the Doncaster starting point on Sunday? I think there are a couple of members just dropping by to say G'day but not going for the drive or the "events". I plan to get there about 10:30am and AVM's schedule is for a 11:00am departure but that will probably slip.

I reckon the front plate is best in the slimline IMHO and maybe a full size rear plate would be good. Here is a pic of SRT 61 showing the 5 digit plate for your perusal
