I love HSV's but it won't be long before they're common again, and Holden will update the range in no time which will see your resale plummet. Plus they look too much like the present Falcons in my opinion.
And i think the Senator is a better match for the srt8, even though it's a few grand dearer.
Just my opinion, and yep i'm biased....

Yeah - they do look pretty good I must admit. 307kw - now that is serious power. As Dom says though, resale will be appalling as it always is with these cars. They'll be common as a Commodore in 6 months too - at least our cars still drop jaws and turn heads where ever you go. An HSV will eventually just disappear into the background once the initial interest in them wears off. I'd rather be driving my 300C anyday!!

Here Here Domenic
I had the 2004 R8 clubsport before my Hemi, the Clubby don't compare sorry to say but the Hemi is the Best of the Best I love it (especially when I put my new 22's on 5 more sleeps)

Hmm...no offense to existing 300C 5.7 HEMI and upcoming owners (like me ), but I believe the Clubsport R8 is probably a quicker car, down the straight and on a track...yes, it has better equipped brakes, lower profile tyres and a lighter chassis but I guess we are making comparos stock for stock...then again, I can only go by logic given I have never owned or driven a Clubsport R8...
However, after sitting in Shane's 300C 5.7 HEMI with his Magnaflow cat-back exhaust system, his car really felt smooth, strong and powerful (particularly in the mid rev range)...when he gave it the stick...

Hi there DC
No offence taken here just our opinions , I purchased a brand new 04 clubsport R8 and yes I do agree that it is a nice car to drive, and the new 06 might be quicker and have better brakes, but I strongly beleive that the 300C is a lot nicer in looks , style and driving but hey just my opinion.
BTW when I purchased that Clubsport I drove the car 35km and it needed a new transmission(go figure ) even after they installed the new trannie that car never felt right.
The 300C is by far the Best Car I have driven to date. (5 more sleeps before the 22's arrive )

I totally agree with you with respect to the points raised of style and drive. I am confident that this car will retain its "wow factor" a lot better than the existing and upcoming HSV models.
One thing I have learnt, particularly owning a tweaked naturally aspirated Nissan 350Z, is that there will always always be someone faster. But purchasing a car, I believe is more than simply power...to be honest, I was inches away from signing the car purchase contract for a BA MKII XR6 Turbo...
In terms of the drivetrain for the 300C 5.7 HEMI, it is impressive for a car weighing greater than 1.8 tonnes. And talking about weight, I picked up the latest issue of the Wheels magazine last night and the new HSV GTS has definately increased in terms of weight...1,841KGs...hmmm...
I am remaining optimistic that once my 300C is fitted with a Dub-Air/K&N Filter Intake system, a Magnaflow Cat-Back exhaust system and a custom ECU tune at Dynomotive, the car will be an even more rewarding drive. Assuming a 15% increase in flywheel power and torque, we are looking at the following revised numbers:
(1) 287.5 KW
(2) 603.75 Nm
I don't know whether this is the "right" approach in calculating power/torque increase figures but putting figures aside, I am sure the car will be a ripper of a drive...based on the drive Shane provided me with simply a Magnaflow cat-back exhaust system...pwhoar!
