Automatic Headlights

I have finally got my automatic head light switch after 6 weeks of waiting, apparently Chrysler Australia cancelled the orders becuase these lights are not for the australian cars, but the guys at Chrylser Brighton reordered them and finally came in today.
Took me all of 2 minutes to remove the exisitng switch and put the new one in.
Is there anything else I need to do to make this work or should it work automatically?
Do I need to do anything to the EVIC easter egg ?
Spock I know you have done this Mod and your help on this would be appreciated, andyone lese with any suggestions please feel free to reply.
Thanks

I know but i spent like $67,000 on the car don't really think $142 will break the budget, would prefer the mod to be as genuine as possible but thanks anyway.

I agree with your comment whole heartedly.

You don't need to do anything else to the car. Mine worked immediately. Just plug and go. The easter egg will allow you too adjust the light level required before they activate but that's all. I left mine stock.

Cheers
Sean

Take a look at the thread above, in the Stickie at the top of the Aussie section. You need to be aware that the sensitivity needs to be set at a level where the Xenons do not come on too early and too frequently. Xenon life is down to the number of switch-ons I belive so you do not want to needlessly shorten their life. They are horrendously expensive to replace.

BTW, which sensor did you cover?

Hi Hemi

I covered the sensor in the middle of the dash at the front near the windscreen, how do I change my sensitivity levels ??

I am no expert (I have not done this mod) so my comments are just prompts.

The sensitivity is in the EVIC Easter Egg. From distant memory I think the setting is somewhere in the 122 range (????) or was that 112 (???).

Maybe consider the sensor at the back of the rear view mirror as this determine the night and day for the mirror and me thinks they would not have that there if the Climate control sensor (middle of the dash at the windscreen) does the same function.

Funny you should mention covering the sensor to test it. I tried the same thing after I installed mine and it didn't work either. The moment I got into my car to come home though (after 6pm) the lights came on straight away.
I think the car knows we're trying to trick it.
