Lowering Info

Just for interest ...Looking at photos on the Forum of members cars.I thought others may be interested as I am myself of the end result and look achieved after lowering has been done...
I have measured my car as in picture below from the floor to top of highest point of curve on the inside arch of the guard...
Standard :
Rims 18 inch Height 765mm front
Rims 18 inch Height 770mm rear

Lowered used 30mm King Springs ( conservative but practical for my use)

Standard Rims Height 745mm front
Standard Rims height 750mm rear

Rims 22 inch 265/35 Tyres

Height 755mm Front
Height 760mm Rear

Hopefully there are a few others interested in posting their height and pics..

its a bit dark at the moment so i'll edit tomorrow and post pics, so far from the floor to the highest point on the curve in the guard i got:

Rear: 675mm
Front: 705mm

As the carpet in the garage doesnt cover all of the floor allow for a few mill difference, will correct tomorrow

Hi,
What is the ride like after the King Springs were installed. I guess it is hard to just given you now also have lower profile tyres.

At this stage, I am planning to use Eibach as experience indicates the ride is more soft.

Cheers,
DC300C

Hi dc300c.. I never liked the floating feel and the front of the car lifting when you accelerate..but after the springs went in ...couldnt be better..much more sure footed and direct to were you point the car ..I actually like the harder ride ...I watch the potholes like a hawk though...depends on your preference...and perception of hard and soft .....cheers frank

Couple of comments from me on this subject. You could consider Pedders for locally produced Lowered Springs. Arnold was having a few issues with the soft rears when he had his done last year and I believe they have now engineered a revised spring to overcome this issue.

Also, I believe the industry uses the hub centre to wheel arch as a standard of measurement. It might be worth quoting this

Have now got Kings springs in the rear and a much firmer ride. Still waiting to hear from Peddars why the original lowered springs were so soft (3 months!). Will be getting the shock shafts shortened to the same length as lowering once we get this house move out of the way. And Peddars have offered to do it!
Cheers

Or you could go all out and get a full on suspension, KW v2's and adjust the ride and the hight anytime u feel like a change.
Might lower mine another 5mm in the next few weeks.
They sit at 710mm front and 720mm rear
