Self - Leveling Rear Shocks

Hi all,
Am I correct that the Chrysler 300C has Self-leveling rear shock absorbers?
My concern here is that other Forum members have experienced issues when lowering their 300Cs and the rear hasn't dropped much, if not at all. Is this caused by this Self-leveling rear shock abosorbers?
Cheers,
DC300C

From my experience with mine you can quote your v.i.n no .to DC and they may tell you

As far as i was informed 2006 OZ model 300C does not have Self levelling rear shocks...I had no problem what so ever in installing lowered springs
Let us know how you go...cheers Frank

From what i'e heard, if you lower between 0-30mm you shouldnt have any problems, any more than that and the back kicks in and pushes it up which causes the front to be lower, heres is a link to another member's pics
http://www.300cforums.com/forums/pic...ight=dub+cream

As you can see the back is high and the front is low and as i believe both front and rear we lowered the same, if you can live with the look then you shouldnt have any problems, although when i lowered mine when reversing in the morning the suspenion made some strange creeking noise,as the shocks would be fully extentend to compensate for the 3" drop in the rear.

My solution was to order some Stock (nonself-leveling) rear shocks from the u.s, total cost was $360 shipped to my door. But be aware when people talk about these shocks they call them many different things, typical self leveling shocks can be turned off, these cant, they have an internal pump, another way to describe it would be to call them high Pressure shocks, just from what people have told me.

Hi there. I had mine lowered 40mm front and back and without any problem. I do not think our aussie models have the Self leveling rear shock absorbers.

Guys, 40mm is the magic number 40mm go beyond it and the car will want to push up. In any case, 30mm is fine - King Springs $500 supply and instal. Just did my car, handles great anmd looks "fat". the way they should have been from the fcatory. You can go the Eibachs ($1000) but your just pissing away $500 for the same thing...

I can confirm what Frank has reported, the later Aussie 300Cs do not have the Self Leveling Shocks. I have not read the exact date these we dropped from the local specification or build date but the dealer will be able to identify if your 300C has them from the VIN#.

I can vouch for the fact that 05 cars do have the self levelers. Mine caused more than a little annoyance.
