Just rang Berwick Chrysler - quoted me $365 for the 12k service. Pays to shop around!

Hi All,

I'm really hoping i don't sounds like an idiot on here but just wondering, should i be getting an interim oil change at 6000ks or should i just wait for the 12000km service?

I would personally recommend an oil change at or before 6000km. I changed mine after 4000km. I think you will find everyone on this forum has changed their oil before 5000km. There is no way I would leave the original oil in the car for the first 12000km. Use the search thread to find some good posts on this topic.

Just rang the Nunawading guy back and mentioned the Berwick price. He agreed to match it. Leaves a bit of a bad taste in my mouth.

Follow the advice above. Thanks Shane. Here's me stupidly thinking that the prices should be the same.

My comments on recent posts:

Ring around to different dealers and use the best quote and a negotiation with the one who is located conveniently to you. Suggest you buy your own Oil and hand that to the Stealership. I rang Mobil and they put me in contact with Petrogas where I bought SRT8 spec 0W40 Mobil1 at wholesale price. Arnold says Werribee has 5W20 for the 5.7 in stock and at a reasonable price too. Brighton charge a high price for their oil in their workshop.

HEMI 57 had the first oil & filter change at approximately 2,000 kilometres. SRT 61 had first oil & filter change at approximately 1,500 kilometres. Both these Hemis spent the majority of their early kilometres on highway runs.

I strongly recommend an early oil & filter change for motor longevity, ie. flush out any manufacturing debris.
