48 me. computer usage theory is funny. I have to maintain our 4 pcs at home including internet access, network connections, service and software upgrades. of the 5 kids only one has enough knowledge to help out
It is an interesting statistics, over 50% of Aussie members are under 35, less than 10% are over 55. "MDW300C" you and I are the same age, but I only have 2 kids (thank God) 4 & 8, still plenty of time before they get online.
I'm 28 and this is the most expensive car I have ever brought. My budget was $17k and I blew that out of the water lol.
I didn't enjoy driving the Chrysler 300C at first because the 2007 Holden Statesman felt so much nicer and comfortable to drive. If Chrysler didn't give me a 300C to take home for a couple of days I don't think I would have brought it.
I didn't like the Chrysler until I got stuck in rush hour traffic and the music was turned off. The hour of silence I had in the car made me appreciate it.
It was the little things that made me fall in love with it. The non digital clock, the indiglo Dash, the headlight colour, the rectangular windscreen and how I could listen to things from Bach, Vivaldi to Snoop dog and Dr Dre. This car is worth the money I paid for it, the holden felt like I was just driving another car. I feel like Im a Pilot in the Chrysler not a Driver.
My 2 cents is that older members don't much get involved in forums. I am in my late 40's, and a member of a few clubs. Most forum based clubs in Australia tend to be frequented by younger people. That's just the way it is.
I have trouble understanding how someone in their early 20's affords a 300c. At my age I had trouble affording one, and I certainly don't own it. We either got a lot of very professional people or drug dealers on this forum lol.

"Aussie300", funny you should mention drug dealer and old men, there is an old thread "What's your occupation" somewhere in Aust Forum, it has over 80 replies from members all over the world. Started by "MR225" who tries to find an old drug dealer amongst the members. As to why youngish members can afford a 300C is quite simple, anyone who is single, has no kids and got a reasonable good job can afford one. Quite a few members are in the IT industry which does pay well. You will be surprise how many "older" members are actively involved with the Forum, our Aussie moderator (Hemi57) who is on holiday in USA at the moment, he is a good example of "older" generation. (I will get some sticks for this when he gets back) There is a Melbourne M&G coming up, do go and find out for yourself how many "old" members are there. Great bunch of people, I met some of them twice. (at Wagga Wagga and Melbourne, long way from Canberra) 300C attracts all age groups, it is one of the best Forum by far, members are very helpful, advices come from all over the world, it makes owning a 300C just more special. Feel free to ask any question, from how to wash & polish your car to very technical details on all kind of mods. (I am yet to play with the Evic which does all kind of things such as auto head light, 0-100 timing, self diagnosis and more) It took me days to read through most of the threads, there is always something interesting. Few of us CRD members in Australia also visit the "European and Diesel Powered" forum in UK, they are great bunch of people too. Happy motoring....
i almost take offence at your comment regarding members who are in their early 20's, i for one is in that catergory and as 300C-CRD said, i can afford it because i don't have any kids or any other real obligations, i don't drink which saves me more money and i make enough in both my job and my investments. when i looked at buying a car, i wanted something different and interesting and the 300C came up, as opposed to an Merc C200K, BMW 320i, an Audi A4 or a Lexus IS250 which was in my budget, the 300C was much better value for my money. it definately doesn't take being a drug dealer to buy a car like this anymore, especially for us Gen Yers who expect the good times to just keep rolling on.
I didn't mean to offend you matey, it was just a comment off the cuff. hehe. It's hard to take the right slant on things when they are said over the net, in my head it was said as a joke, as this is said as an explanation. I spose with a mortgage, and a child, I tend to think of things in "My world" as you would think of things in yours. I am in the IT industry with my own business, and I am lucky too that my business pays for the car.
Having said that, I am still very surprised how appealing this car is to younger members, particularly as it does have a very old school look about it, in a modern kind of way. Does that make sense?
