Interesting side by side

G'day all.

I was heading to my car in a parking lot on the weekend, and parked beside it was a Mitsubishi 380 (Australian). They were both black, and it struck me how similar the rear of each car was. When side by side, the car height, width, stance, crease through the boot, and everything seemed very similar.

Has anyone else noticed that?

I've tried to put 2 photos side by side to show (couldn't find any totally square shots on teh same angle), but it really doesn't do the compare much justice. Maybe the 380 I was looking at was a series 2, or a GT..... Anyhow, thought I'd share.

Anthony

That's a tough comparison. Kind of like the difference between a pizza before you eat it, and a pizza 4 hrs after you eat it. Get my drift

Yeah Anthony - I guess there are some VAGUE similarities. Sheesh - we can't have people comparing our car with a Mitsubishi!

I’ve not heard anyone say that about the 300, but I’ve certainly heard it when it comes to the rear of the Charger. Since you don’t have the Charger over there you may not have noticed it. But quite a few see the similarity. That seemed to be the biggest complaint I heard from Charger critics was the rear of the car.(And 4 doors) My apologies to the Charger camp, just repeating information that has been discussed long ago.

Looks similar. And will look even more similar when the third brake light is moved to the trunk in 2008. I was hoping for a longer/wider third brake light, like on the Caddy. It looks like the 300's 3rd brake light is going to look like the boring Charger's brake light. Maybe it will be longer, like the Mercedes E320, which would look a lot better IMO.

I have never the seen the back of a Mitsubishi 380, only the front in my rear vision as I drag away from them!

When I see a late model Holden Vectra from a distance I think they look like the rear of a 300C myself. The shape of the taillights and rear window.

That's EXACTLY what I think too John. Has caught me out a couple of times from a distance.
