Resonator replacement - done

Ok, I was not happy with the silence of the factory exhaust (the silence was deafening). So today I spent a bit of dosh and replaced the factory resonators with Berkley 100mm resonators and 3" tips. Looks stock, sounds mild but with a nice rumble at idle, under load it's really nice but not obnoxious.

AND.... Just a slight hum at cruise with MDS enabled... Nothing I would call a drone, I have had old V8's before that drone, this is nothing like that. All up, $240 installed in stainless. Well worth the money. Along with the intake silencer removal mod I did the other day, the car now sounds like it performs, AND... The missus is happy! (not too loud).

We cut the pipes just behind the suitcase, as I want to refit the original resonators before I trade up in 2 years.

The local exhaust shop had everything in stock. From my invoice:

2 x BS0434 100mm Round 57x300x57 Perf/FGP/ST/NN $63.46 each
2 x BSX140 Tip 63mm 2.5"x76mm - 3"x150mm $27.27 each
Stainless steel tube 2.5" $36.36

Resonators and tips are Berkely.

Correction, they are 3" tips, not 4" as per my first post.

Sound clips? Sound clip before the mod: lock yourself in the closet, thats the sound you hear. After the mod? Give me a day or so...

dnar, did a google on the name and the only shop it displayed was in OZ and they are closed until Jan. 7. So I'll have to wait a week before I can find out how much the shipping will be to a Japanese address or a USA military PSC address , but I like the look without going full blown yet....

Thanks for the information....

I don't think it matters exactly which resonator you choose, cant you find a local exhaust shop that stock them to have a look at their range?

I deliberately choose a "large" resonator, as most of their range were the hot dog type (like Blastin Bobs). I wanted just a few more decibels and definatley no drone. Having just returned from an 800km trip, I am very happy with the note now, no drone at highway speed, put your foot down and she speaks to me! Cool. Next is the Diablo...

I have heard of the resonator replacement, that they just put plain pipes in place of the resonators, and didn't have a drone either. This is what I am planning. Haven't done it yet, but should be simple and reversable.

Here is a quick vid of mine I had made the other day, it's not loud but it sounds nice under load.
