Wife has had enough.

Bought the CRD for my wife back in 2006, she uses it everyday for school runs and work. Now she has had enough , ordered a Forrester few days ago and I shall have the CRD transfer to my name when the new car arrives. One of the reasons she doesn't like the 300C is that she can't go off road when doing the school run, always get stuck in the school car park. With the Forrester, she can drive over the road side curb, onto the rough, straight to the school's playing field to pick up/drop off the kids. Guess I will have to pay the stamp duty when transfer the ownership to my business, but it is all good, all expenses on the 300C will be tax deductible in the future.

Sounds to me like your kids could use a little more exercise and just walk from the curb to the playing field!

On the other hand, you get the 300!

Seems the 300C is not popular with the ladies, I've phoned a couple that were for sale locally and on both occasions the reason for sale was that the wife didn't like driving it. Seems to be a visibility issue, particularly if they have been used to driving 4WDs.

Still her loss is your gain.

Glad you're not in WA, the stamp duty would be a killer at 6.5%.

Yep, she does complaint about couldn't see over the front hood. I am still as I will have the car all by myself. Stamp duty is at 3% upto A$45,000 then it goes up to 5% . My kids are still too young to appreciate the 300C, they would rather get into my work ute any days instead of the CRD, probably because they can't see out much in the 300C. Guess the real reason is that my wife wants her own car, she said that she was under huge pressure every time driving the 300C, worry about scratching it and can't park too close to other cars in case of getting the door dents. All because she knows how much I love the 300C.

Well done James!
I am sure none of that happening without careful planning and execution from yourself. Now that you have a win on the board its time to use the same strategy on her in other areas!

"Michaelr", I am not that cynical in nature, I honest thought she would enjoy driving the car. Somehow she prefers a smaller car with manual stick. It is the thought that counts, I am still in her good book. Only problem is that when she gets her car, I have to wash it as often as I wash the 300C.
