HEMI57 - Meetings with US 3CF Members during our holiday

We flew into Melbourne yesterday morning and got through the front door at home about 11:30am from our US holiday. What another fabulous trip to the US and an absolute pleasure to meet some of the US Forum members but was a hard return to earth this morning having to jump on a plane back to Canberra (for what appears to be the last trip to Canberra for a while).

Mr Hertz assigned us a Caddy DTS, which sounded quite nice when angry, went fairly well when provoked but lacked boot space for all our luggage and multitude of purchases. The coldest outside temperature noted on the climate control was -18 degrees C (yes, minus).

We met up with bac n black in San Deigo and what a great second night in the US that was. Just the first experience on this trip of the generosity and hospitality of our NA members. Here is the photo of Robert with Paula & I.

Sadly the timing conspired against our meeting with jasonb20 in El Paso. Next time Jase, okay?

What an absolute blast of a time spending 4 days with Moose and his wife. There were so many kind and generous things Devin & Heidi did for us, not the least of which were to organise a party with a few of their friends & Forum members and coincidentially Moose's birthday was a few days away from mine and Heidi organised a cake.

Here are the Phoenix Forum members being very serious in Moose's garage (and what garage! Oh and we love the home too ):

Mrs Hemi4me? peaking around the corner, Wagon Doc (LX forum), Moose, HEMI57, Hemi4me? & DanRealtor. Look closely and you will see the Forum on the screen behind us and check out the SRT Magnum wheels on Hemi4me?'s CSRT8.

When we got to LA we visited HAZMAN and his wife at their beautiful home. Unfortunately time was limited and we didn't take any photos but we thoroughly enjoyed home made Tacos and it was an experience seeing where HAZ does all his outstanding work on member's pics.

There are so many great memories and friends we have made. Thanks so much for your generosity and hospitality. We hope to see you again this year.

That's awesome John - good for you mate! The Yanks seem like a friendly bunch. We'll have to make sure we return the hospitality if any of those guys visit us.

Looks like you had a great time John. I too one day would love to be able to do such a trip and catch up with some of our NA brethren. They seem like a great bunch of folks.

Welcome back "Hemi57", guess you missed the 40C+ in Melbourne. Sandiego is a great place, visited there many times myself. Like any holiday, it is always too short, good to know US members treated you very well. Quite a few new Aussie members joined up, you will have to catch up with them. Good to have you back in control. Btw, got the message "no more age talks".

"Awesome" is an appropriate word to describe the trip and meetings with the member for sure. No matter how much time you have you always wish there was more to be able to fit in more meetings & activities. We knew time was limited around LA so we missed out on meeting up with other members there. Next time!

James, yes San Deigo is a must do on every one of our US trips. When we arrived home it was in the mid 30s and the house was like an oven, what a contrast. I have noticed a couple of the new members posts when I caught up with all the new posts in the Aussie section yesterday. Don't worry too much about the "maturity" jibes, I'll get you back mate .

Shane, I haven't read yet that you and Harmony's addition has arrived yet (other than being a couple of days overdue). Wishing you all the very best through this.

Thanks John - she is getting induced tonight (Thursday) so we should be parents by the weekend!

I will start a thread with some happy snaps once I am able.
