Just when I thought all dealers were crap...

The fam and I just got back from visiting the relo's down in Adelaide for Christmas and of course the day before we were to head back to Canberra the mandatory "End of Holiday Dash Warning Light" came on. Anyway I took a look in the manual and it said it was the engine malfunction indicator which respresents everything from dodgy fuel to total melt down. As it wasn't flashing (melt down mode) I wasn't too concerned but figured I better get it looked at before heading home (as it would probably start flashing in the middle of the Hay plain!)

So I took it to one of the local Chrysler dealers, Adrian Brien Motors. Anyway,I take it to service department and get the familiar "Sorry mate we're booked up until the middle of January 2011 ....." To which I reply "Thta's no good, I'm heading back to Canberra tomorrow" at which point Dave the Trusty Service Manager walks past and says " I'll take it into the workshop and get one of the boys to strap it to the computer and see if we can find the problem, The likelihood is it probably just needs to be reset". To which I reply, "That would be great!"

So the 300C disappears into a very busy workshop. 15 minutes later Dave the TSM walks back in and says "There's a flash upgrade required for your car, that's what's causing the error. It'll take about 20 minutes". So Nicholas (my 19 month old son) and I went into the dealership and quizzed the sales guy about 300C accessories etc. So, 30 minutes later Nicky and I
headed back top the service department, but on the way we were greeted "Guy the Mechanic" (not his real name) who said "Your car's ready sir, however if you've got another 10 minutes we'll give it a quick wash". To which I reply "Sure! That'd be great!"

15 minutes later Nicky's strapped into his seat and we're away. New software and a sparkling clean car! I even liked the sales guy I spoke too!

Great job Adrian Brien Motors!.... If only Rolfe Motors were as accommodating........

Actually I've noticed that my service guys have started washing the car too. I'ts a nice finishing touch and something the local Holden dealer has done for a long while, even on grubby work utes.

My dealership had a bit of a hiccup at the last service and didn't get the car finished on the day, but to their credit they orgainsed a loan of their accountant's Hemi 300C for the night, they knew I had jobs booked for my car. Must say the V8 had a bit more get up and go than my old V6 too.

Good to hear from you "Jazzy G", even better news when dealer did the right thing by you. Booked my car in for 50,000 km service next week with our local dealer, will report the result then.

You mean, there really are good dealers out there? Glad you were able to get your car fixed. I've been to three dealers and have been BS'd at all three of them.

That's nice to hear. I actually bought my car there. I've only done the first 1000k service there (free). Another 6000k for the first oil change.

I have dealt with Leo Muller Chrysler in Albion, Brisbane for years. Previously with Hyundai's. (Yes, I know). They are fabulous whenever a small or major problem has occurred. Only problem now, is I'm not happy with the way the Leather Seats are wearing and now have a crease split in passengers front seat. Warranty claims are getting tougher. They won't budge saying its normal wear & tear.

Anyonelse had Leather quality issues???

Got my car over a year ago, seats are still O.K. And it should be, don't give in to the dealer, take it further up to the regional head office. Unless you have done over 100,000 km over a short period of time, the warranty should still valid.

i usely find that the older guys working the dealerships are more helpful, i had about 2000 dollar in bs warranty work when i first got my LS...the guy was about 50 yrs old and always bS-ing with, telling me i was going to pull all the ladies with that lol (i was 17 yrs old)......but i find the some of the younger guys here always try to juice every cent out of you possible, especially here at the chrysler dealership, one of them seems to look down on me as if he is a hot shot......just my 2 cents

Sando, my car has done over 100,000 km and the seats are still in good condition, could do with a good clean, but that's about it.
