CRD-50,000 km Service Report

Have had the 50,000 km service done today, here is the story.

Took my CRD to the one and only dealer in town this morning, they have a new female staff at the reception. She pulled out the service form and said " Here we are, please sign this for your 30,000 km service"....I look at the service form, it has 30,000 km service schedules printed, before I can say anything, my wife lost her temper "Not again, can't you guys get it right, it has been happening from Day 1". and stormed out the office. I explained to the female receptionist that it should be 50,000 km service and asked to see the service manager. As usual he was all apologetic and reprinted the service form again. Basically the 50,000 km is just an oil change, so I thought that I could get the car back within couple of hours. But they are fully booked and said that the car wouldn't be ready until 4:30 p.m. I have given up on them already, so I didn't loose my cool and said that I will be back at 4:30 p.m. And reminded them to change the ownership to my name and my new address.

Came 4:30 p.m. I were at the workshop to collect my ride....Nope..it wasn't ready, I told my wife to keep calm, so we sat down next to this guy and got talking, he was having his Jeep serviced and the dealer promised him for 4 p.m. collection as he had an appointment at 4:30 p.m. Obviouse he was not happy as we all sat and waited. Came 4:40 p.m. His Jeep was ready, so he paid and collected the keys and walked out the office, then he was back within minutes holding the service book which wasn't stamped. By this time, I were in the process of collecting my CRD, the manager was again very apologetic, dropped everything and stamped his service book, he was out the office on his way again and before the manager could sit down, the guy was back again, he said that there were oil splashes all over the front of his Jeep. Poor workshop manager apologized more, went out to the car park with him to sort it out. 5 minutes later, they came back in and the manager was trying to ask him to bring the car back tomorrow, probably for a wash and polish, but the guy said "No, you won't see me in this dealer again" and stormed out the office.

I felt so sorry for the workshop manager that I didn't have a go on him for the washer fluid top up charge of $9.50 which I specific told them not to do in the morning. I actually wrote down on a piece of paper telling them not to do it as I filled it up to the top before I brought the car in. And as usual, they got my name wrong on the invoice so he had to reprint the invoice again.

Total cost of 50,000 km service - $305.55 (I supplied engine oil) Two hours labour charge ($220) for basically an oil change service. Oil filter $36.30 (really should suppy my own filter next time) I just paid it as I thought the workshop manager was having a bad day already.

Holy crap!! You should put a sign across the street warning unsuspecting folks not to go there!

I have had a few bad experiences, (not at all with Chrysler), but that takes the cake...

I'm curious wether they will keep charging everyone the $8.70 to fill the washer bottle up. I was reading the invoice out loud and when I read out the water washer top up charge, i looked up at him and said inst that interesting how they have charged me that when i filled it up this morning before I left.

He looked at me dumbfounded. Silence then Silence and more silence.
