Shell V-Power Racing Fuel

Does anyone have any experience with Shell V-Power Racing fuel ?

After hearing about it from Mark at Dynomotive I've found a links with some more info ... MoTeC test results

According to Chrysler I've also found that our 300c's are Ethanol friendly.

One interesting and probably important finding from MoTeC was "Tuning of engines is required to obtain the maximum benefit from any fuel.".

DynoSteve or any of you other guys;
have you guys found any improvements with this fuel?
have you guy's done any special tuning?
if you've tuned up for the fuel, and given the limited availability, how does the car run w/ more common 98/95 ron fuel ?

There have been multiple threads about fuel but it certainly doesn't cause any harm to bring it up again.

On a local performance forum I am a contributor to (not related to Chrysler) they ran a poll for the members to vote on their favourite fuel, and of course the thread grew with all the war stories. The clear winner was BP Ultimate (about 75%). Shell got a bagging. Anecdotal stories suggest Ultimate is refined to be 100 RON and that it retains 98 RON even after 12 months "shelf" life. Shell fuel allegedly is the king for RON degradation, and after only 1 week will have dropped markedly.

My own personal experience was on a country trip, heading north on Shell 98 RON and the return on Caltex Vortex 98 RON. The trip indicated a whole 1lt/100 better on the return trip and was confirmed by the calculated MPG result.

Of late I have been using Shell 100 with Pro Strength Octane Boost. Have found it a little crisper and revs cleeaner also IMO.

I think very soon I will be changing over to a 100 race fuel as direected by RDP.

That is because you headed north on the way out so the return trip must have been south and therefore all downhill

Seriously though I use BP Ultimate but that is mainly because I have a BP fuel card and I find BP stations are easier to find.

Where or how do you get 100 race fuel?
