Talking 06HEMI - More modifications about to start

Hi everyone,

As most of you know, Steve at RDP has helped me with a Twin Turbo conversion for my 300C. It's running great and I'm having heaps of fun driving around. When the turbos kick in and then the blow-off valve makes its "Swoosh" noise, its a real laugh to see people turning their heads looking around confused. Anyhow, it never really stops...this modification bug has me now and I thought that I'd outline the next lot of changes/upgrades for my 300C.

All of these are interior changes at the moment, but when I get around to doing any mechanical mods I will let you all know asap. Ok, so for my AV setup I've selected a 7" Kenwood head unit with built in Bluetooth connectivity. It also includes a Garmin touch screen GPS navigation option. Here are the details of what is going into my car as of this Monday:

KENWOOD DDX8032BT 7” TOUCH SCREEN DVD RECEIVER
KENWOOD KNA-G430AU NAVIGATION UNIT
2x ALPINE TME-M780 7” WVGA HEADREST MONITORS
2x ALPINE SPS-600C 6½“ TYPE S 2-WAY COMPONENT SPEAKERS
6x ALPINE SPS-600 6½“ TYPE S 2-WAY SPEAKERS
ALPINE SWS-1223D 12” TYPE S SUB-WOOFER
ALPINE MRP-M1000 V-POWER DIGITAL AMPLIFIER

Peter at Platinum Car Audio and Interiors is doing the work for me here in suburban Rydalmere in Sydney. I've selected the Type S Alpine gear as its a nice balance of cost vs performance. I'm pretty sure it'll be plenty loud and clear for me to watch/listen to my preferred genres: Progressive Trance, Jazz or Greek Hip-Hop! The fascia on the dash is going to come out and get reshaped and then painted so that there aren't any funny gaps and it looks as factory as it should. I've seen some other work that Peter and the guy have done and its very tidy.

I will also be getting the rest of my interior redone at Platinum CAI in the coming weeks as well...The new interior will replace the factory pleather seating, both front and back, centre console cover, door inserts, sun visors, the door pillars etc. The headliner will be redone in suede to match. The faux wood on the door handles and the steering wheel will also be wrapped in leather to match the rest of the interior.

Once I get this all sorted, I'll post some pics and I should be about done with all the interior mods on my 300C.

Cheers,
Paulo
PS. Don't forget our M&G on Sunday June 1st!

Hey mate, thanks for the info, I'm sure Dave @ topend does a great job but I've committed to the boys at Platinum already...I sussed out a couple of other places also, Concord Customs etc, but Platinum were pretty good from the start and Rydalmere is just a couple of suburbs over from me...

Cheers,
Paulo

With all the modifications that us Aussies are doing now, it's hard to stand out. With this in mind, I'm going to stand out with project "X". Initial mods will be:

- Offload the HEMI and transplant a Dodge Avenger engine (mmm...smooth!)
- Single tailpipe from the 3.5L
- 14" spinners (small time bling rims)
- Raised 3 inches
- AM head unit with casette deck and Dolby surround (sponsered by PYE)
- Velour/vinyl custom bench seats
- Transmission conversion to "3 on the tree"
- Custom plates "57GONE" or "WAS57L"

Late the hating begin!
