Not worth creating a thread for this but having a thread to mention to mention something random is better than hijacking another thread.
So feel free to use this for something you wouldn't normally bother creating a new thread for.
So this is just something I found and thought it might be worth applying for just for sh!t5 and giggles.
How do you know what cars are on the ship? Do they have tracking.... I thought that VOT thing died in the arse. There was a red one going to Suttons that I could have bought but it had no premium leather group or sunroof so I declined it.
You can't track it while it's being built but once you get the VIN and it's shipped out of the factory, you can stalk it all the way to Australia via the shipping company website. Then the people who process the car at the wharf (Prixcar) also have a tracker online.
They were lying about the redline pearl one "coming", it was already there.
That's the difficulty with the Chryslers; the VIN isn't issued until the car reaches the end of the production line. Or at least that's what my dealer lead me to believe.
I might have to make a tutorial thread for this tracking stuff down the track lol.
Ordered the end of September
Left the factory sometime in December I guess (late enough for it to be a 2016 build)
Left Baltimore on a ship just after new years
Came off the ship on the 5th of February.
Cleared by Customs on the 10th.
Sat there with seagull crap on it at the wharf until the 17th
Still at Prixcar Minto today.
By the time I get it it will be 5 1/2 months from order to delivery.
But isn't that your local team? Bit like the curries hoping Australia loses the cricket but happy to live here. lol. and my old man taking me to the cricket when I was a kid, supporting those pommy bastards.
Thing is Steve I have never ;liked the Knights and because I use to carry St George around on the coach ,I found them to be great bunch of blokes and a great team that always looked after my coach and me ,so I am more of a St George supporter lol. ::wink::::smile::::big grin::
Cheers
Geoff
Nope. Apparently even the dealer is furious with the delay at this point. As far as they've told me it's complianced and ready to go from Minto, but Prixcar won't put it on the truck.
Call me cynical. First thing I'm gonna do before I hand over a cheque is look under the front for scrapes, at the very least. Seen it happen more than once with dealer repairs to brand new cars.
But yeah, sorry. Didn't mean to exacerbate his suffering.
Steve I would go over tho whole car body including the wheels to make sure there are no dents or scrapes. You whant the car delivered in mint condition. You never know how the ship loders and truck loders treart your car with straps being tightend around the car for the journey to Ozzi.
You'd know if its got panel damage when you check it on the Prixcar tracker. It says it's getting transported to some prestige smash repair place in Woolongong. They don't hide the fact very well LOL.
I was more thinking it was immobile due to being a lemon, and therefore I theorised mine was left behind because they didn't have a flat bed.
Anyone I'll finally have it on Thursday (dealer called just after my post earlier today), so I guess we'll have to see. I went via a local car yard during my evening walk today and they had some i30's there still covered in the wrapping and white plastic. Filthy dirt, cobwebs, mud, birdshit. Just to think that's what my car probably looks like atm.
I'm lurking here as I too am still waiting for my car! It's only just started the voyage over. No 300's were shipped from 4th Jan to 28th Feb if you believe the WWL tracking site.
I know all will be forgiven when I drive away in the SRT! The problem was the shifting date. Now that I know the car is on a boat on its way, I'm feeling a lot more comfortable but the anxiousness is growing daily!
I'd find it helpful if someone could post up what info you need and where you track all this stuff. I emailed the dealer for any info but obviously I'm not worthy of a reply now I've ordered.
