Heidi... though I only met you briefly at LX & Beyond, what you've written sounds just like the person I met. True and straight.
Those of us that have stayed, continue to try to keep it family here. Sometimes, though, the pressures of work and other emergencies keep us from posting as often as we did before. There were bad seeds before, and there continue to be bad seeds now... the best we can do is try to provide a good example and dissuade bad behavior by an overwhelming display of good behavior.
Don't know how some of the fences can ever be mended, but I refuse to let hope die. Sounds like our paps came out of nearly the same mold!

In love with my first wife & first car ('68 Charger) ... still have the wife
but now there's the Heritage Edition and a Magnum SRT8!
times change, interests change, etc, etc. people move.
i see lots of mods for 2005-2007, but almost nothing for 2008 specifically unless it just the same as for series 1. not because none is interested or it is worse (it's better!), but i guess novelty is gone, vendors do not expect the same volumes any more, etc, etc,
you make excellent points here on interests changing, people move on, the passing of time. This too can absolutely play a part in an forum seeing friends come and go.
Some come on for the novelty as you say, and leave soon there after, but many of those that used to be here are gone. They lurk or fail to show here at all. They are in fear of being banned, sick of the petty crap, and want to be a part of a community that enjoys each other and enjoys their cars. From that enjoyment comes knowledge, and from that knowledge we grow strong as a community.
So strong is this LX community that in fact that for the past 3 years members of Corporate have given us their time each March at the Spring Fest, and have come to understand that we are all a force and that we need to be heard. I witnessed first hand the power of a consumer base have actual sway on corporate suits this past March. Together we are heard and have the ears of the car maker. Apart and splintered we may find these cars go away. That there in lies the beauty of the LX platforum; we as a group that own these 300's, Chargers, Magnum and many moving to a Challenger are smaller in size than our fellow enthusists that own Mustangs, Cameros, Corvettes...... Therefore, there are not site upon site and forum upon forum relating to these cars. We thus find ourselves in a very small circle that no matter where you go, you will end up crossing over to one board or another. This has created the LX community, and as a group instead of one or two we are able to get the attention of corporate folks. How many other communities are out there where top management come to be among the people for a weekend of fun. No where can you get that close as a consumer with decision makers that really do want to listen to us.
i could not agree more with u and Heidi...i enjoy this forums not to long ago and i'm really thankfull for all the help i had recieved in here..MurderedOut u are one of those members who are always helpfull with others not matter what..even what we call stupid questions u always give the right answers to people and in occasions u had answer some of those questiosn to me...thank u and thank Heidi i had the pleasure to meet her in person and everytime i go by the shop u guys treat me really good...so i will ask the same ...Where is the love guys? this forums is for help, love, learn and respect...nothing more
Marcil (forgive me if I spelled it wrong here friend), you are one of the new folks on board here that is contributing. Your passion for you 300 shows each time you are here as not only are you getting products form us, you have added something new and exciting to you car every time I see you. As you do this, from the basic billet mod, and then into some performance mods you may do, this knowledge will come on over into the forum for all new folks to see and read about too.
I'm sorry I missed you yesterday too by the way. The phone was planted in my ear all day long LOL
I agree with Heidi, I've only been a member for a little over a year but this forum is where I come to find out what MODS I can do and how to do it and everyone has helped out but not like it use to be. I find myself going to the over forums to find out things about my car that I use to get from this forum. I still consider this my 1st choice to go everyday. All my mods I currently have are because of this forum and the people that have help over the year. I just wish I can find ways to get other mods but finding vendors that ship FPO AP address is hard sometimes.

That was very well put Heidi. This was the first forum I found when I bought my LX and I had lots of help when I needed it. I've also made many friends, including yourself, that I will keep even if I move on to another car.
Unfortunately the realities of life are here as in the real world. People come here for enjoyment and when it's no longer fun (or perceved that way) they move on. I still communicate with people that have left, I just need to do it elsewhere now. I still come to this forum everyday but I will be the first to admit that I don't post like I used to. I do most of that on LX and that's mainly because the CenCalLX group has a club folder there.
It would be nice to have it like it was.

I joined this forum before I even got my car. It was a nice place to be for a bit. Then I started taking on flack from other users about the badge on the back of my car rather than who I was so I mad emy post rare and far in between. After that I got torched by a supporting vendor. This is the first post since then.
And just for some of you who don't understand or know what we are talking about, here are links to two of my threads in which I was personally attacked with some harsh comments when I was just asking for help with my situations. Browse through the two threads and you'll find some of the most ill-mannered individuals on this forum.
Not to get off Heidi's topic but I can relate to the bs from some of the forums user base.

Murdered, I never completely went through that thread of yours... Wow is all I have to say now. Those are the types of people that should be banned. I haven't been a forum member for forever but I too have always appreciated all the help I have gotten from members on this forum since I got my 300. Its true, you dont see a lot of the same senior members anymore - which is pretty sad. My last major issue that put my car out of commission for a few weeks, there was one forum member, BobF, that took the time to help me and even offered to call around and locate parts that my car needed to get it back on the road. Its people like that that make this forum great, not the ones who either dont help at all or make posts completely slamming murderedout for trying new mods on his car. If you dont like what someone is doing, dont slam them for it.
I wish we had the old members back too, and i havent even been here a year...
