Heidi....thanks for being the one to step up and say this.And...yes...Ive been quilty of posting what I ve done to my car but not sharing my thoughts with others on what they are doing...and I apologize to all the new members here for that. That being said...I found another forum...and within a week of being there I paid money to help support it.Why would I do that you say?Well...because of the great people there....many of them banned from here.Im not sure of the story behind all that...but I know that they have all treated me as a friend and family member, and thats why I wanted to help support that forum.I see Danno is STILL the top poster on this forum...and most here probably dont know who he is...or that he was in that horrific crash a few weeks back. Why dont they know him?Because of exactly what you are talking about Heidi....just my .02cents

I haven't been a forum member for forever but I too have always appreciated all the help I have gotten from members on this forum since I got my 300. Its true, you dont see a lot of the same senior members anymore - which is pretty sad. My last major issue that put my car out of commission for a few weeks, there was one forum member, BobF, that took the time to help me and even offered to call around and locate parts that my car needed to get it back on the road. Its people like that that make this forum great, not the ones who either dont help at all or make posts completely slamming murderedout for trying new mods on his car. If you dont like what someone is doing, dont slam them for it.
I wish we had the old members back too, and i havent even been here a year...
And what you see in those threads is not nearly as bad as what was originally posted before moderators had to step in and regulate.

Most of the distasteful and harsh posts got deleted.

For those of you who have not read my threads, especially the one about my lambos, I really think you need to browse through them and take note of those members who do more harm than good on these forums.

One thing I can say is that I'm glad the moderators are as involved as they are. For the most part, they regulated the abuse in my threads.

Bruno your observation are well founded and along with Hiedi to the heart of the matter. We need to bring back that welcoming and helping spirit back to 3CF. And to those that are hateful, should not be here. We may not always agree on everything, but there is a respectful way to voice your disagreement. By the way MO your viper wheels look great and complete the ride.

Gosh I couldnt agree more with everything that was said in this thread. I know sooner than later it will be closed but i wanted to express my feelings for such a long time but was afraid to be banned for sharing my opinions. Anyway when i joined most of the veterans where being banned until one day i realized i missed the deep knowledge and quick responses, browsing a previous vendors site i noticed a site that was all soo familiar to this site with a slightly different URL. Anyway after going to this other site I found the old the veterans and all the knowledge that I was looking for, and my new family.

I used to come to this site looking for help and by help i meant right away. Well @ the new site I witnessed a kindness that was lost here I couldnt tell you how many times I posted a topic or in a thread in within less than a minute someone responded and was there to respond to my responses, even go out of their way to PM me and or go out of their way to pass their phone number to talk it out in realtime. Another thing forumn based was the ability for the owner/mod to be active but also listen to members to make the site easier and better. The new forumn always took into consideration and still is that the noobs are the future and I was once new and may not be the guy that can tell you about engine mods i sure can help in other places and always refer someone to a guy that will tell you more than you need to know. Another interesting and awsome addition is Member of the Month a place for members to vote each month on other members for their support, active roll in the community and their cars. The winners are also rewarded a prize. I think this is a great way to keep the community positive and heading in the right direction.

Not trying to bash this site but am trying to provide constructive criticism, I go to a site where people have listened and helped. I go to a site where i can interact with the owner he has taken my ideas put them into action. I go to a site where I discuss my life know about their lives and never even met some of these people but feel like we hang out a few times a week. I can use a chat function and talk to the people who have become my friends each night if I please. I have seen things well beyond any persons responsibilites. For example I have witnessed the act of kindess of helping people during tragedy or during low times. I have seen members giving members parts just to hear about their happiness. I have witnessed a family of members show their support for the BT family when they were sick to show appreciation and gratitude, I have seen soldiers in Iraq receive gifts, food during holidays that they couldn't share with their families.

I now am apart of a new family one that is more than just about the LX, one that I have aquired a whole lotta new friends. Most of them can see these topics guys, but just cant respond on the site. I too have given my money within the first few weeks to the other site maybe not a lot but just enough to show my appreciation. I hope that someday we can fix things around here consider some of the things i talk about and make this again one of the better forums on the net.

In regards to steves comment I am sorry to hear this steve. I noticed your not on here much but we spoke in the past and you know where to find me. Its truley sad because those who don't know steve and would like to bash him are unaware he is very knowledgeable and a big part of the community, take a look at the sister site lx.com. I have seen him in the chat helping members time after time..

I've seen so many changes here on 3CF as well. There are only a few members that still post here from when I joined. Everything was so great back then. Everyone asking, everyone helping... Now it's pretty much the same but as MurderedOut said, it could discourage other people. I dunno...it's ok to be here, just not as fun as it used to be.

Great thread Heidi. Let me say, I am one of those members that was banned. I know this post will probably be deleted, since I started a new account. I dont care. So be it.

I went over to the other site that has been spoken so much about. I will not post the name, as to not cause any situations. I will say, however, that my new "home" is one where we all have a lot of fun together. No one takes anyone else too seroiusly. We joke and play around as if we've know each other for years.

Its a place where we dont just talk cars, but we talk about us and our families. We have one family in particular doing mods for just the cost of shipping. We have other people giving away items because they dont need them anymore.

I actually miss some of the people that never made it over with us. But, I dont find myself wanting to come over here because it seems that most of the fun went with us, and that really sux.

I cant really express what its like over there any better than todd did. Hell, him and I have even helped each other out numberous times.

All I can say is I am glad to have a friend in Heidi that is willing to stick up for what she believes is right.

-Damien

it is great to see that we have an active discussion going on here.

Its great to see those that have been lost, are back here too. Damien, Jim, Todd, good to see you guys.

Damien your post above hits it on the head too, and goes to the essence of what made this forum great; it was the people.

I understand that moderators have a tough job to do. However, I felt this thread needed to be a wake up call also. Take a look around, people have left in droves over the past 6 months. There is a reason for this. Sure you are going to have some that take there ball and go home and act like kindergarten, but many who left, left because they got feed up.

Some will say and argue those that split, went away because they did not get their way. Maybe that is the case for a small percentage, but for the bulk who did, it was because the board seemed to have lost its way. Moderators are there yes, to take care of any situation that gets too out of control, but for the most part, especially on this forum where it is more adult based, you will find that these great guys and gals will police it and keep it under control and actually help self moderate it.

These forums are a business yes, but the mods are the management if the owner is never home. Its like an HOA... Rules are set then never enforced then when they are all hell breaks loose. This is the cause of frustration for many. There never seems to be clear direction at times.

I hope for the future that we are able to see the professional courtesy extended here to some other sites related to our beloved LX cars.

your thread show where the mod's did their job and took care of the BS. What has happend here on the forum is that many of the vet's left the forum and those folks were the ones who helped self police it. Murdered you are one of the members here who has tried to come on and be a part of the forum and instead you are abused, made fun of and mod's had to come in and weed out the crap. It is guys like you who try to come on in and be active and enjoy the board, then often find themselves discouraged and looking elsewhere. This goes back to my very question; Can we bring 3CF back? Let hope we can and again, lets hope that professional courtesy can be extended to other forums also.
