Unhappy Brake question, need some good advice.

I just ordered some 22" asanti rims for my car and when i ordered them the factory told me i would lose a few inches on my lip if i wanted to put the brembo kit on so i told them ok. Yesterday the rims came and my front rims had a 2" lip and the back had 6" lip. They told me i only could install the brembos on the front. They told me it wouldn't fit on the back...so i was wondering if there telling me the truth or if they were just to lazy to make me another back set with 4" lip. I don't know anything about brakes, so can someone help me out. If i put brembos only in the front and keep it stock in the back, will it harm the back breaks. Will one set in the front be enough....wat to do wat to do. stressing.

I don't currently have the dimensions for the Brembo rear brake kit. But StopTech rear brakes are bigger than Brembo rear brakes. So, if the StopTechs will fit, then you know the Brembo brakes will too. Download the StopTech rear brake template here:
http://stoptech.com/tech_info/charts/98-241-2470-00.pdf

And follow the instructions for using it here: http://stoptech.com/tech_info/wheel_fitment.shtml. This will let you know if there is enough room under your new rear wheels for an upgrade.

Putting a big brake kit in front and not in back won't harm the rear brakes. But it might result in too much front brake bias. That means the front brakes do all the work and the rear brakes are just along for the ride. It all depends on the rotor and caliper size. Many Brembo front kits really need the associated rear kit to bring the car into the proper balance.
