Well, I dunno about the above, but I can say that after a HARD expressway breakjob (lock em up, antilock kickin in thankin the stars I didn't get peeled kinda breakjob), my C has never breaked the same at speeds above 65-70. It's got a NASTY vibration at that level, either from that 1 time or the fact that mine was built by drunken sailors... take your pick.

You might want to check your tires for flat spots if it vibrates while not braking as well.

Hard braking isn't so much the problem, but keeping those pads compressed (brake applied) on the hot rotor after a situation like that can cause warpage due to uneven cooling of those hot rotors, but that's the extreme situation. Your situation doesn't seem that extreme and I doubt your rotors got that hot from one application.

I would guess that it's most likely that you left pad material on the rotors, causing the same "warped rotor" feeling. Rambit called it.....do DJZeckhausen's brake bedding procedure before doing anything else and for God's sake, be careful when you do it!

Personally, after I have a hard braking situation, I try to drive for a while without needing to apply the brakes so they cool down evenly. Seems to work!

I second that. Check your tires.

Your rotors need to cool off after hard braking.
If you had a chance to drive a track car, or a car with high end braking systems this would be a very quick lesson.

Performance pads/rotors create a lot of heat under pressure. This is why you have x-drilled rotors to help get rid of the heat somewhat faster.
You're rotors are plain vented rotors (vens in the middle of the rotor) but they still have a solid face/back.
After heavy braking you need to drive normally (no excessive braking) for them to cool off and stay straight. If you park the car a minute after that, or run through a puddle, there is a big chance of warping your disk from that.
Also, never apply the parkin brake after heavy braking. When you slam on your brakes all 4 corners are braking, so when you apply the parkin brake (mainly rear wheels) it has a tendency to warp the rear rotors because that heat has nowhere to escape.

I fear for this car, i think its lifespan has been cut short by a few years.
