No. Not unless we're talking about the manufacturer participating and cutting the price to the retailer in support of a "sale" or introductory pricing. The margins on brake kits aren't anything like the margins on consumer electronics.

Stock brakes are pretty good and I'm not doing any racing, so I guess I'll pass.

$5000 brakes on a $34,000 car seems kinda nutty to me.

OK, the word back from StopTech is that I can advertise a sale price of $1,000 off the 4-wheel kit (that's 20% off) and $300 off the front kit between now and February 15. I'll be updating my web site to reflect this sale pricing. So the front kit will be sale priced at $2295 and the 4-wheel kit will be sale priced at $3995.

After February 15, there will be a print ad campaign in publications like DUB, and the advertised price will return to list.

Just so you are up to speed, the front kits are available to be shipped now. The 4-wheel kits are awaiting delivery of some custom brake line fittings with a non-standard flare angle. Chrysler decided not to follow SAE standards on their rear brake lines and that's why the delay here. I'm told to expect the rear kits will be ready to ship in about two weeks. Because if this, I pushed to have the sale extended into February, rather than ending January 31.

Yeah, what I'm thinking is we are seeing $5000 as a list price. No one pays list price (aka MSRP) anymore, except maybe at dealer parts depts. Walmart and the Internet have spoiled everyone of that. I was looking for the real price or discount price.
