I Received The Tool

I got the Piston Spreader Tool from Zeckhausen Racing this is really a well made and thought out tool. I won't have my new pads until Friday and won't be able to install until Monday morning. Let me say that the time is standing still I think the clock isn't moving. Will let everyone know how the brake install went I can say now that the Spreader Tool is going to make a big difference in how long the job takes less for sure.

I'm willing to bet it will take longer to swap the pads if you use it! The pads should come out with a little (very little) pressure from your fingers...... At least that was my experience on the 2 cars I've worked on. Of course, there is nothing wrong with having another tool in the tool box!

I think your right. I spent almost $200 on mine and the only time I use that tool is when the components are hot.

If it's not hot down there I usually just pull one pad out half way and use it as a lever to push the pistons back. Just do one pad at a time or all you're doing is squezing in one side while the other extends back out.

The irony of seeing Bo'sRT posting in a thread with this particular title is almost more than I can stand. Ouch, my sides are aching.
