Slotted Rotors Replaced Per TSB and WOT TSB

I got my car back from the dealer today with the new slotted rotors, replaced under the TSB. They replaced the squealing pads at the same time, and now it is smooth and quiet bliss every time I brake.

I wanted to know if there is anyone out there who has had the computer flashed to eliminate the over-rev problem between 1st and 2nd gears at WOT. I had it done, but the problem continues as it was before the flash.

Any ideas?

I've heard that there might be updated software but nothing specific for the over-rev problem while going into 2nd at WOT. They are supposed to have a correction soon. I'd give the dealer a call if they said that was supposed to correct the problem.

I had my rotors replaced yesterday and went with the C-Tek pads. I now miss my black wheels

TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) is a warranty item. You don't have to pay.

TSB = Technical Service Bulletin. That is when they find there is a problem that needs to be corrected. The owners of the cars that this covers are usually notified to bring it in for the repair. In this case, the motor will sometimes hit the rev limiter before shifting into 2nd gear at wide open throttle. So the car would run through 2nd gear, there would be a pause in power for a second or two and then it would shift into 2nd gear. Sometimes it does it and sometimes it doesn't.

hmmm

i thought that pause in between 1st and 2nd was part of the torque management system never paid attention to it hitting the rev limiter. Im going to get the slotted rotors installed on saturday. So I will see if i can get them to flash my computer also. Is there a tsb number?

Here is the link to all the LX TSBs posted by ResumeSpeed.
http://www.300cforums.com/forums/tsb...lx-models.html

To my knowledge, affected vehicle owners are NOT notified of TSBs...only Recalls. That's why is always good to periodically check RS's updated TSB List.

My bad! That is correct. Owners are only notified if there is a recall. Owners either have to keep us with TSBs or the dealer might mention it if the car is in for something else.

It depends on the specific TSB. Some TSBs are simply advisories to help the service shop diagnose a common problem. Other TSBs include provisions to replace parts outside of the normal warranty period. In this case, the TSB mentions warranty replacement. See text below:

TSB #: 05-006-06
Date: August 2, 2006

Subject: Front And/Or Rear Brake Rotors Grooved/Scored

Models: 2005 - 2006 (LX) SRT8 Charger, SRT8 Magnum, SRT8 300C

Symptom/Condition: Front and/or rear brake rotors may appear grooved or scored prematurely.

Diagnosis: Inspect the brake rotors. If the rotors show premature grooving or scoring, perform the Repair Procedure.

Repair Procedure: Using the procedures outlined in TechCONNECT: SERVICE INFO tab /5 - Brakes/Hydraulic replace the front and rear brake rotors with the slotted rotors listed in the Parts Required section. Inspect the brake pads and replace the pads as necessary.

NOTE: If premature grooving or scoring is present on any rotor, slotted rotors must be installed in the front and rear.

Policy: Reimbursable within the provisions of the warranty.
