You want to spend time and $ to try and improve on the brakes? Cool. I look forward to seeing some #'s when you have 'em.

Dan
I agree there is no brake fade but after my third track day and 2500 miles on my car the brakes are DONE! the rotors are soo gone that when you touch the brakes the car shakes soo much you'd think it was a ride at the local fair. These cars are too heavy for agresive track driving with the factory set up.So maybe there might be some room for a better brake system that can take the heat.

Stop

HOLDUP!!!!!

Dave,

there is getting to be a lot of Brake discussions and i'm getting confused. Question to you today

What is the best brake package to order for my SRT8 to avoid dust buildup. And when can I order it? Do i need the calipers or will new pads suffice.

Thanks
Dan

This thread is all about what owners of the 5.7 liter (non-SRT8) 300C can do to upgrade their brakes to the Brembo brakes on our cars. It has nothing to do with your SRT8.

To answer your question, the fix for your brake dust problem is to get on the wating list for the C-Tek pads. In a few weeks, your problems will be over. Just go to http://www.zeckhausen.com/Chrysler/300C_SRT8.htm and scroll down to the C-Tek pad description. Follow the instructions there for getting on the waiting list.

I installed the StopTech 6-piston big brake kit on my SRT8 yesterday evening and I took some photos along the way. Thought you might like to see a couple shots of the SRT8 front knuckles:

And I just found someone selling a set of SRT8 brakes on eBay who posted pictures of the complete assemblies with the brakes attached. I have no idea how long these photos will stay around after the auction.

I'll do that on a new thread. Just took some photos of the brakes a few moments ago.
