New Brembos

The brakes have always been rubbish on our Touring limo. How a coachbuilder can get away with fitting a set of uprated pads front and rear and still meet FMVSS I don't know!!!

I looked around at various upgrades Stoptech, Hi-Spec, AP Racing, Baer, Wilwood and Brembo and also Hemi brakes too.

Dave Z was very helpful and recommended Stoptech.

I liked the look of the 4 wheel kit, but because Dave isn't allowed to sell to UK, I placed an order with a UK distributor.

The order was placed early December 2006. 3 & 1/2 months later I still hadn't received anything. They did offer me a 5% discount for the delay.

After a few empty promises by Stoptech and also by the UK distributor I cancelled my order. Eric from Stoptech had never kept his word and eventually refused to answer my emails.

Anyway..... enough of the bad news and on with the good.

I couldn't afford a 4 wheel Brembo kit, so settled with just the front.

WOW!!!!! What can I say!! The components just are pure quality, the fitment is outstanding and the braking is phenomenal!!!!

I have fitted many aftermarket automotive parts in my life, some of which were ok, but these Brembos are faultless!!! They also come with very clear instructions and illustrations. Also included are bleed hoses and stickers.

Here are some pics:

Conclusion: I'm extremely happy and want the rear kit now.... those solid discs on the back look pathetic!

Ditto!!!

If you don't mind how much did you put up for the kit? I know they're darn expensive.

Nice! Those red calipers look fantastic. I have Brembo brakes on my 350Z and love them. I also have them on my SRT8. Love them. Hate the dust. Just placed my order with Mr. Zeckhausen for the semi-metallic pads and a set of braided lines for that car.

My SRT8 calipers are silver and I am contemplating going red with those. Plus the rotor hats are showing a bit of surfact rust so I'm going to paint those as well but in a color that won't really show or contrast with the rotor face. I'll probably just match the color that they are around the barrel of the hat.

OOOOPPPSSSS...I am verging on hijacking your thread! My apologies!

I've had Brembo's for almost a year and they ROCK both on the track and for daily driving.

Yeah I know what you mean about the dust! I wouldn't mind some low dust/noise pads.
