Factory Brakes?

Does anyone know how much stock brake pads are for the 300c? Just incase, I want to change my brakes before I put my new set of 22's on. Should I change the rear pads too? I only have 9500 miles on it but at least 4000 of the miles I had my old 22's on it. So I think I might be needing new pads? Anyone have any input, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Well, you say that you think you may be needing pads; it isn't very hard to find out for sure. Get a good bright light and look at the ends of the pads, see how much pad you have left. If you don't have the time or tools to look yourself, nearly any good brake place will inspect them for you for free. They will usually take you out to the vehicle while they have it apart, and show you just where you are on wear.
As far as cost on the pads; shop around, I wouldn't go directly to the dealer, you know you will pay too much.

I would be very surprised if you needed new pads for the 300C this soon. The stock rotors and pads are huge and wear should be lower than average. UNless you're taking the car to the track or autocrossing every weekend, I would expect several times that mileage.

The car is so new that the aftermarket hasn't yet come up with a wide variety of friction choices yet. Acebono ProACT pads are available from Tire Rack for $77 front and $66 rear. I haven't seen much else and don't carry anything yet.

I agree with Model 57. You should pull a wheel and take a look at your original pads to see how much meat is left on them.

The pads and rotors are great. I've yet to see a post about pad or rotor replacement. And some of us here are known to drive a little harder than the average driver.

Oh, and did I mention - no brake dust!
