Parking Brake Issues

Has Anyone But Me Had Any Issues With The Parking Brake. Specificly When I Turn The Car On The Parking Brake Light Will Light And Emit Short Beeps To Indicate That The Parking Brake Is Engaged. This Is Strange For Me Because I Have Never Had The Parking Brake In Use Before. I Have '06 5.7 300c. As Of Now I Still Run Stock Wheel Set Up. 18" Chrome Clads. Any Feedback Will Help

You probably brush the pedal inadvertantly as you enter the car. This can shift it enough to set the light, which trips the chime. You don't even "feel" it, but I found myself doing this quite regularly at first (guess I have big feet!). Just pull on the release and it will/should pop back up enough to eliminate the light and chime. In the worse case, use your toe and force it up enough to distinguish the light.

It may be something your dealership can adjust if you can't change your entrance practice... like learning to walk without dragging your feet slightly.

I had similar issue, but I use mine. At first trip of the day the light would stay on, as if the brake was not released. Second trip of day all was OK. Turns out the return spring tension was weak. They replaced the PB assembly (and the cable I think, but the cable might be part of the assbly). All has been fine since.
