Question on Slotted Rotors? If you have them I need you to look at them.
Got my TSB done on the rotors and just realized that all four rotors are the same. Basically the slots are "wiping" out on the drivers side and in on the passenger side. I need to know from you guys if Chrysler makes a left and a right set of rotors since I've never really seen these on another car. If so I need to go back to the dealer and have them fix it. I always thought that the slots should "wipe" out on both sides which would require a "right" set and a "left" set.... mine are all the same.
thats funny u asked that. i was at the dealership yesterday getting my coolant flushed and asked the service guy the exact same question. he said there are no left and right sides, thats how they all come.
I had an issue with the PB until I noticed my leg brush against it. I am 6'5. I just came from the dealer. I have my oil changed every 3-5000. Last visit, all good. This visit: need brakes and rotors. I have 29300 miles. Is that normal? I did not have it done today, but do not want to ruin my brakes. How long do the brakes normally last?

At the rate mine are wearing not to dam long, MAJOR brake dust on these hard a$$ pads. Yes, I have had the TSB done on my 2006 SRT8 also w/new
rotors pads etc but they still put off tuns of brake dust and grind like crap!
I had the TSB done @ 1800 miles, now I have 11k on the car, same issues!
Chrysler needs to realize they have a frick'n problem and fix it.
Good Luck

I would suspect that your dealer either 1) reinstalled the existing pads, or, 2) installed the same pads as the original. The TSB is unclear as to what pads to use if they replace them with the new rotors but it does leave it open to reuse the originals if they pass inspection.
In the case of TSB 05-005-05, for Squealing Brakes on an SRT8, there is a pad kit. Here's an excerpt from the TSB;
DIAGNOSIS:
If the vehicle operator describes the Symptom/Condition perform the Repair Procedure. PARTS REQUIRED: Qty. Part No. Description
(AR) 1 05174311AC Kit, Front Pad
(AR) 1 05174327AB Kit, Rear Pad REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Use the procedures outlined in TechCONNECT: SERVICE INFO tab /5 -
Brakes/Hydraulic - Mechanical/Brake Pads - Shoes/Removal and Installation, to
replace the front and/or rear brake pads. NOTE: Replacing the brake pads will NOT reduce brake dust or minor rotor grooving.

Now, with respects to the grooved rotor TSB, it's for rotors as you know. In this case, let's see if the pad kit is different. Here's an excerpt from TSB 05-006-06:
PARTS REQUIRED: Qty. Part No. Description
2 05290537AB Rotor, Slotted Front
2 05290538AB Rotor, Slotted Rear REPAIR PROCEDURE:
Using the procedures outlined in TechCONNECT: SERVICE INFO tab /5 -
Brakes/Hydraulic replace the front and rear brake rotors with the slotted rotors listed in the
Parts Required section. Inspect the brake pads and replace the pads as necessary. NOTE: If premature grooving or scoring is present on any rotor, slotted rotors must be installed in the front and rear.
So, they only replace the original pads if the need to be replaced. They don't specify which pad kit to use, though. I'll look at my service ticket on the TSB work for grooved rotors to see if they listed the pad kit used or if they went with the original pads and reused them.
Stay tuned...
