I have had 3 different occassions where the front brakes start to feel really rough when you apply the pedal either soft or firm (30,500 miles on the car). The more pressure you apply, the rougher they feel. Strangely enough, the problem goes away by simply stopping the car, shutting off the engine, and then restarting the engine and resuming driving (I discovered this by accident the first time it happened). Everytime this has happened, I made it go away by stopping the car and doing a restart. The problem never goes away if I keep driving, and it usually will never come back on the same trip once I do the restart. Could this be an anti-lock brake problem? Has anyone else had the same problem? I'm scheduled to see the dealer next week, but I'm sure they won't know what is causing the problem when it's not doing it while the mechanic is working on it.
I also have all of the other problems with the drivers window not going up, the seat not going back on exit, the sunroof rattles, and the memory seat setting getting lost. I should be able to keep the dealer busy for a while correcting all of these problems. I see they all have TSB's.
If anyone can help with the brake issue, I would appreciate hearing from you.
Thanks.
Jerry

If this happens the first time you brake in the morning, it is just rust on the rotors. Once you brake once, you clean it all off.

It doesn't happen in the morning. It happens while I'm driving for a while. I have had it happen in both wet and dry conditions. It hasn't happened for about 2 weeks now, but the last time it happened it did it 2 days in a row. I'm going to talk with the dealer about the rotor TSB and see if my car qualifies. The rotors are groved pretty good, so I'll see what the dealer has to say.
Thanks.

Yea, something is wrong for sure. Pads could be worn out completely and have gouged the rotors.
Took the car into my dealer, and he agrees that something is wrong with the brakes. He is going to replace all the rotors and pads under warranty this friday. We'll see if that solves the problem.
Jerry
Did this solve your problem?
I have noticed that this happens to me also, but only on surface that are not solid or do not grip very well.
I first noticed this while braking on gravel at a construction site.
Now that winter is here, I notice that this happens quite a lot on snowy or slippery surfaces.
I think it has something to do with the ABS, not pads or rotors, because it NEVER happens if I have good traction.
Please let me know what you found out.

Sounds like you have an excellent dealer seeing as the brake pad and rotors are only warrantied for 12000 miles/12 months. It also sounds like this is a starting point for them because they're not sure. It's been a while now since you posted. Any updates?

Well, I decided to go with new rotors and pads all around.
I'll see if that takes care of the slippery condition problem next time I'm out in the slop.
