i even went to the hawks website and they have 4 different ones .. now im really confused as to what ones i should be getting
can anyone help me out ??

from my mod shop i have these two part numbers

#HB507F711

the hawks website gives these part numbers

#HB507F.711
#HB507Z.711

#HB509Z.678

I'm not sure I would want to buy brake pads from a company that doesn't know how to catalog what they sell. You can tell by the dplate number what each part number fits.

HB507F.711 (D1056) ferro-carbon

HB507Z.711 (D1056) ceramic
These two part numbers fit the same applications 2.7 liter and 3.5 liter rwd,

HB509F.678 (D1058) ferro-carbon

HB509Z.678 (D1058) ceramic
These two part numbers fit the 3.5 liter awd and 5.7 liter

The way to decipher a Hawk part number is to break it up into three pieces. For example, let's look at the HB509F.678 pads. The "HB509" part is the pad shape. The letter to the left of the decimal, in this case "F", is the pad compound, specifically Hawk HPS (High Performance Street). And the three digits to the right of the decimal is the pad thickness, in inches. So this pad is 0.678" or 17mm thick.

Hawk street compounds are:

F = HPS
Z = Performance Ceramic
Y = LTS (Light duty truck & SUV)
P = HP Superduty (Heavier truck)
N = HP Plus (very aggressive autocross pad)

For the Chrysler 300C, I would pick the Hawk HPS pads (among the pads offered by Hawk) as the best mix of overall pedal feel, dust level, noise, and performance. The Hawk Performance Ceramic, in my opinion, gives up too much performance in exchange for a slight dust reduction over HPS. I would not even consider the HP Plus, since it's probably the noisiest and dustiest aftermarket pad sold. Terrific performance, but unlivable on a daily driver.

Which part numbers fit your car? The 300C 5.7 uses D1058 front and D1057 rear pad shapes. The corresponding Hawk part numbers are HB509F.678 (front) and HB508F.675 (rear). By the way, the AWD 300 V6 model also uses these same pads.

The rest of the V6 models use the same pads in the back, but they use a smaller front pad. The pad shape is D1056 and the Hawk part number for HPS front pads is HB507F.711.

We have all these pads available, as well as other brands, for the various 300 models. If you can't get what you need from your local shop, give us a shout and we'll be happy to help.

sorry to bring this thread back from the dead. so the D1056 WILL NOT fit the front of the 5.7?

i ordered off tirerack and their site said this was the right one, then i called them and they said if i wanna return it i have to take a loss on shipping and i'd only get store credit cause the D1058 pad costs a few bucks more.

For the 5.7 liter V8, you need the following wide front pads to fit your 2-piston floating calipers:

What you got from Tire Rack are these narrow pads to fit the single piston front caliper of the RWD 2.7 and 3.5 liter models:

They will not fit.

To add a little more detail ...

The Chrysler 300 2.7 and 3.5 liter RWD models use the following single-piston front brake caliper:

The 3.5 liter AWD and the 5.7 liter RWD & AWD models use the following 2-piston front brake caliper:

Thus the requirement for a wider pad (D1058) for the bigger front calipers.

blahhh... i wish they would at least gimme the right pad instead of billing me for the difference and making me pay shipping both ways due to their mistake.

thank you for all the information, i really appreciate it. next time i have a brake issue i'll probably come to you instead of those airheads at tirerack.

edit: also, they claim they gave me this pad because it's the "non performance or HD suspension"

Next time you deal with Tire Rack (and you should, since they are an excellent company), talk to Luke Pavlick at x362. He's one of their most senior sales guys and is very knowledgeable.

Here's a picture I took of him standing next to Brock Yates at the start of the 1 Lap of America Cannonball Run a couple of years ago:
